I guess from that article that we hope they get knocked out the cup by Blackpool or he won't be coming.

Yeah, it looks like it. They seem to have a policy of playing their second string in the Carling Cup, so....COME ON BLACKPOOL!!

Don't believe everything , Andrew Davies was loaned to Sheffield united and was straight away involved in that sheffield derby match. The Forest higher ups will likely sit on their asses and do nothing even after the cup match is over.

Published 23:00 21/09/09 By MirrorFootball

Tony Pulis has snubbed loan bids from Newcastle and Nottingham Forest for defender Leon Cort.

The Stoke boss wants to keep Cort, 30, at the Britannia Stadium after lending Andrew Davies to Sheffield United.

Another new twist to the saga:

I've just come across this - Published today so don't panic just yet Mr Mainwaring!!

LEON Cort insists there will be no conflict of interest when he turns out for what could be his last Stoke City game – tonight's Carling Cup third-round tie at home to Blackpool (7.45pm).

http://www.whydelilah.co.uk/news/22...toke+exit+...+unless+they+rock+Blackpool.html

Cort, together with the likes of Michael Tonge, Carl Dickinson and Tom Soares, will be in the shop window ahead of possible loan moves to the Championship.

But victory over Blackpool could tempt manager Tony Pulis to detain them at the Britannia for at least another five weeks, ahead of the fourth round.

"Yes, we are in the shop window and it could work both ways for us," admitted Cort. "Someone could be watching you and you have a 'mare.

"I think you just have to approach the game with a determination to go out there and do the business, so there won't be a conflict of interest as far as I'm concerned.

"We are all still Stoke City players and so you want to do the best you can for the club."

Cort's situation has been monitored by the likes of Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest, and he admitted his days could now be numbered following the recent arrivals of Robert Huth and Danny Collins at the Brit.

"The gaffer has told me there's been a bit of interest in me from other clubs and that they are good clubs," he said.

"You never know what's going to happen, but it is really hard at the minute when you're not playing.

"I've had a fantastic time here at Stoke, but you want to be playing football."

Pulis has put both Tuncay and Uruguayan newcomer Diego Arismendi on standby for tonight's tie, while Cort could be partnered in central defence by Danny Higginbotham following his recent first-team omission.

"Whichever team we put out, we know it's going to be tough for us because Blackpool are flying at the moment and will come here full of confidence," said Cort.

"It's a chance for some of us to get some fitness and a game under our belt, so we should be raring to go," added Cort, whose late booking in the last round at Leyton Orient was his first in 181 senior appearances for four different clubs.

Ryan Shotton, who is expected to feature at right-back tonight, is being watched by Derby and at least two other clubs ahead of a possible loan move later this week.

Has anyone noticed Barnsley have just signed three defenders... two of which are from Stoke.

I hope they've got about a million defenders otherwise our chances of signing one of them are getting slimmer and slimmer.

Maybe but I'd imagine they all have 24 hour recall in case of defensive emergency or something.
