Forest/England Flags

Hello All

Just wondering if any could help. This weke me and my brother have both looked into getting a Forest & England flag made up. We got a design sorted and sent it into barmy flags, and they have quoted us around £280.

Which although I'm sure it takes some work, we thought for some letters on a flag, was very expensive.

I'm just wondering if any on here have any advice in terms of making your own? We feel this may be the only way of getting one done, with our design, at a cost we can afford.

The only problem we may have is finding a way to put the Forest & 3 lions crest on the flag. But I'm sure there's a way.

Any help would be much appriciated chaps.

Alright mate, that seems alot for a flag with some letters on! Why dont you just buy a large flag with the 3 lions on then stick a forest badge on, or write NFFC in the four white squares.

Mine cost £2 for the flag and £8 for 10 sheets of iron-on t-shirt transfers.

Only used four of them for the letters as well.

Easy.

There's a guy on this forum who owns a couple of big flags.

I forget his name though.

I don't! lol

Anyroad - the 3 lions is rather complicated so you'd be best off going down the route of iron-on transfers - at which point you may as well do the letters that way too.

If the flag you're after is huge, then you can split the letters/logo onto multiple sheets so as they can be printed larger. It's tricky to get them aligned right for ironing, but from 50 yards you can get away with allsorts!

Oh - Staples Office Supplies, or an assortment of online places for the clear or white iron-ons..

;)

Can you post your design le/red? Is there any mileage in cutting letters and characters from coloured material and sewing them on to a standard saint george cross?

I got this one shown in my display pic cost about £185 plus postage from barmy flags about 3 years ago, dont take it to games very often as its huge and a bit of a hassel to take. I did ask a few stewards in the upper bridgford if i could find a regular place for it but they said it wasnt possible due to the amount the of advertising boards.

Thats a lot of money TotalForestFunk and then not to take to games. Do you hang it in your house?

Cheers fellas.

Will post the design after me snap fella, we've had to change it from our original design due to the quote being way over our budget!!! Apparently it was the inclusion of the Forest & England crests that cost the money, so we've removed them.

We have toyed with the idea of cutting and sewing the letters out of material ourselves. The only problem being is getting a 10x5ft St.George that is good quality and not just a cheap £9.99 job off ebay.

We've found one, and that it's £50. Therefore, for an extra £40/50 (for our new design) we're probably better off paying the little extra and getting in done properly, rather than paying £50 for the flag and maybe making a crap job of it ourselves!!

Will post the design up in half an hour.

Iron on heat transfer paper

Source the right size flag (shouldn't be too much for a plain St Georges cross from Barmy Flags or such) then print out the 3 lions and tricky tree onto the paper and iron onto the flag...........simples!

Original design = £280 (12x6ft)

Untitled7.jpg

Amended design = £114 (10x5ft)

Obviously both are just samples are the actual flag would look much smarter (well, if done properly)

10 foot by 5, my individual N, F, F and C are A4, so you'll get several letters on a sheet for the text you're looking at.

As for a hard-wearing, stitched flag, that is going set you back more like £75 for 10 feet wherever you go. Have you looked here? There's currently not many of that size on eBay. Flag Loft have a few at decent prices (£50 for 3 yards looking at it!)

I think if you just get the lettering done on your original design and then get that printer paper I linked to in the other post for the Tricky Tree & 3 lions it would look good. Sure it said they do A3 transfer paper so as long as you get a good resolution pic it should blow up quite big
