Forest DVDs

I was really pleased to sit and watch the Yeovil match all over again, excellent stuff.

And then I found by chance that if I was a Boston United fan (Blue Square North), I could buy ANY match from last season on DVD. I think this is a great idea.

I know there was talk of putting together a monthly review DVD at Forest, but I think for a fiver to get the complete 90 minutes on DVD of any game you fancy reliving that would be great.

Anyone else fancy reliving some of last seasons games from start to finish?

Given that Boston were kicked out of the League and Blue Square Premier for financial irregularities last year and demoted again this season for still being in administration, I'd suggest that we shouldn't follow any of their ideas, as they're likely to be expensive for the club!

The club put forward the idea at the start of last season, and the general concensuss for that very few people could afford £8 per game, and wouldn't want to bother with any games we didn't win, and win well.

I still think a monthly DVD with proper highlights (at least 10-15 minutes per match, and all cup games included) with extras such as interviews, classic game of the month, competitions etc would be far more sucessful.

If it was say... £7 per month, and had all that kind of stuff on, id be far more inclined to but it than £7 for the thrilling 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers :hmm:

I'd guess it could be quite expensive for the club as well, given that they'd need to print a number of copies and have to sell a certain amount to break even...which probably causes the high price.

...surely they'd be better off with an on-line on-demand service? Pay your monies, download the match...sorted.

I think its a good idea, I think they could make DVD's to order really so it wouldnt cost them much money. You would sell a fair few I think

It's not massively financially viable to make commercial DVDs to order; the scale of costs means you need to be able to guarantee a reasonably large number of sales (say 1,000 - which is what they produced initially of the Yeovil game).

Some dude burning DVDs to order isn't really cost effective.

If they made it reasonably priced then it would be a goer - the most sensible thing to do would be to enable people to buy online and download a high quality video file they could burn themselves; although of course this would speed up the time to them being pirated etc.

The Nottm Panthers sell DVDs of all their games so I think it is viable but not something I could ever see Forest go for. After all it would be what some fans would want, we can't have that happening.

FW isn't expensive at £40, you gat every games highlight plus pre/post match commentary, interviews with players (new signing being of high interest) plus classic games like chelsea 0 forest 7, alone the games work out to less than 50p to listen to (unless you get the radio only option which is even less)

Yeah, if you don't live in the vicinity of Nottm and can't get to away games, Forest World is brilliant value! I've listened to most away games on it over the last two seasons.
