Can't disagree there, would probably replace Jenas with Hodge though. I would want to fit Hodge into the starting line up but think that Keane and Bohinen beat him to centre mid and Woan does on the left, and can't really shoe-horn him in on the right over Stoney.

Was Hodge with us as late as 1992?

It's Baggio

John Robertson
He left for Leeds in '91 according to Wiki.

Dessie left in '92 so he just fits in.

I think that's exactly what I'd go with as well.

It's hard to leave Pierre out, but it's even more difficult to leave Clough on the bench.

It's so sad to think about how downhill Stan's career went after he left Forest. In the right frame of mind and with the right guidance, he could have easily been the best striker in this country.

Did you know we never won a piece of silverware with Crossley in goal?

Pierre was probably a better goalscorer than Clough but I picked Nige because I think he and Stan would've been a perfect pair. Clough with the vision and flair dropping off and threading balls through to Stan with the pace and power - Awesome.

Oops. Ah well - in that case I go with your selection :)

Des would qualify twice anyway as he joined us subsequently, although obviously not quite as effective as he was first time around!

you couldn't have Collymore without Bryan Roy. It simply wouldn't work. If Roy had gone to Scouse with Collymore, they'd have won the league. FACT.

I think Clough and Collymore together would've been awesome, although I do agree that Roy and Collymore worked very well together.

Let's face it, Collymore worked well on his own!

He didn't really set the world alight anywhere after leaving us, though , which is a shame, as he had the raw ingredients to be the best in the world.

I completely agree with both sentiments.

Yes, Collymore and Roy were incredible together, but I think Cloughie would have been too. And that's coming from someone who absolutely idolised Bryan Roy.

To be fair, a good striker could be expected to score 1 in 3 games. For us, Stan got just about 2 in 3 - exceptional!!!! But although he wasn't as effective at Liverpool, he still scored about 1 in 2 - still very, very good. You're right though - for a time, we knew exactly how to play him - he was lethal. In retrospect, he probably thinks he should have stayed here. Did he just move 'cos we wanted 8.5 million or was it written into his contract that he could move if ...................
