Forest commentary

Hi everyone,

I'm a noob so please go easy on me...

I was wondering if any of you guys knew how to get Forest radio commentary when you're out of range of Radio Nottinghams FM channels. I live in London and the thing I miss most about the saturdays i'm not watching The Reds is listening to the matches on the radio...I tried 1584 AM but couldn't get anything but static. If I tune in on the web or on my iphone I can't get the footy as it isn't broadcast online apparently...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Did anyone try listening online on Saturday?

Surely if the BBC have the rights to the games (which they do), then this season they can allow Local Radio Online?

I appreciate that last season this wasn't the case, but isn't it different this year?

No, I think they still don't cover commentary on their standard streaming service.

The 'Forest Player' scheme on the official site (formerly known as Forest World) allows you to stream match commentary (as well as access to interviews and goal highlights) for a fee.

Really the only reason for subscribing to it is for those of you out of range of commentary as obviously goal highlights are now available online for free from the BBC and Virgin.

The only way you can hear live commentary outside of Notts is to buy Forest World and listen through the "Forest Player"

Tv rights and online audio rights are completely separate.

I tried on Saturday - it was fine during the build up but when it got to about 2:50 all stations seemed to switch to the Notts game...

Surely if they can broadcast league 2 they should be allowed to broadcast the Championship as well? Its all the football league after all...

It's to do with their specific agreement with Forest rather than the football league.

Bearing in mind the average age of the Notts County fanbase is 87 and therefore highly unlikely to utilise the Internet, I don't suppose there's much of an issue in them streaming Notts commentary.

Thanks guys - it looks as if i'll have to subscribe to world/player or whatever its name is these days in order to get the commentary - not that it matters just yet as I am at the next 2 home games and qpr away so I can subsribe after that...

I live 'dahn sarf' too, and use Forest World/Player to listen in to the commentary (which is Radio Nottingham streamed). That said on Saturday it was *really* quiet, and I wasn't the only one suffering (read the Reading match thread). I'll be complaining if that happens again!

If you know someone in Nottingham you can listen through google talk.
I live in Greece/Serbia and never miss a kick.
My father puts the microphone next to the speakers and i listen to it through my speakers here :D.
You both just need to sign up to google talk first which takes one minute. It works like skype.
