Forest academy poaching?

"The issue of big clubs snapping up the best talent the lower leagues, and foreign divisions have to offer, has hit the headlines again in recent weeks."

So, Ken Bates has weighed in on this now, dragging Everton into the fray with Man Ure, Man City, and Chelski.

Seeing as our academy is, or at least was, well thought of, does anybody think there might be similar action to come from the Might Reds? Might we be due some cash, and get to shaft one of the bigger clubs while we're at it? Does anybody know of any such going on at the Forest academy? Are we losing talent, maybe that accounts for some people feeling the academy hasn't produced the goods of late?

Since the chelsea punishment was handed out, now you will see a sudden surge of teams reporting fellow teams for this poaching. It has been going on for years, but now if FIFA and the FA continue with this stance, big clubs may not be able to bully smaller clubs to sell their talent so early and so cheap...

£5m Jenas is good money if you ask me.
Reid & Dawson £8m.

Cant think of any of ours that got pinched. (I'm usually wrong though).

Aren't all these cases in the media younger players, maybe 15 ish, and so slip under the radar a bit? I mean, I don't know anything about the Forest U15 side for example, so how would I know if some amazing prospect had been pinched from us?

Could be wrong but i think that Derby actually nicked Barnes from the Forest academy.

Child protection laws mean you don't tend to hear about players under-16.

Last few years our academy has been mediocre - so i don't think any of the 'big' clubs will be dragged down by Forest!

Oh, well nobody on here is going to know then probably, unless there's any bald men from the car park that have inside sauces :)

I was wondering if that might be because the big clubs had poached all I best players before we'd even heard of them.

Too true, but there are a couple of really highly rated youngsters in the U15s at the moment, not 100% sure on names though.
