Fitness of Our Squad

With Perch now off of the injury list and BD telling us that Mousii is back in the squad again that only leaves Bennett who is said to be only 1 month away from fitness - I couldn't help wondering about our situation and that of other teams.

I wouldn't imagine any other club within the football league (at this time of the year) that can call on a full squad of players to pick from.

It's a bit of an headache for some managers as who to leave out, but when he has injuries there are those who are not getting picked regularly getting games. BD's headache is - who to leave out.

For this time of year I find it remarkable that we can call on virtually everyone at the club and long may it continue.

I think thats it's one of the main reasons for our good form. We havn't lost any key players at any point in the season. We have always had a pretty much full strength team to choose from.

Billy gave them all the sternest pre-season workout they had ever experienced.

This is paying off now along with the rotation policy.

Its tired and unfit players that get injured more often than not.

The strength of the fitness is down to Billy's pre-season and his rotation policy.

There seems to be a curious effect linked to our first team squad for a while now. When we have a large squad, we don't suffer with injuries and have 2-3 players competing for each position with players becoming unhappy that they can't get into the team.

When the squad is thinner, we invariably have at least 2/3ds of the team injured/not fully fit...

haha yeah, for some reason the more minutes footballers play the more likely they are to get injured... strange eh!

Have we played the same starting 11 2 games in a row all season? Possibly but I don't remember it happening, that really does reduce the odds of getting injuries massively. Agreed the pre-season has seemingly made a huge difference too.

I think generally when we've had a thin squad,we've had an idiot manager. Thus the training was probably rubbish.
