Final thoughts on 10/11 Forest shirts...

Home shirt: 9.5/10

-I love red. This shirt is a masterpiece of simplicity:giveheart:. No ill-advised third color no excessive patterns (like those white trims appeared on last season's shirt) to ruin its tidiness, just plain red is an absolute triumph! In addition, putting Umbro logo at the right bottom side of the shirt and once you flip the shirt over, a "Forest, season 2010/2011" appeared is an artwork.:devil:

Only blemish of the shirt is the little size label located inside the left shoulder area can really irritate you due to its inevitable contact with the neck skin. I will wear a under tee if weather is hot or simply put on the shirt after the normal attire I decide to wear outdoor.:1st:

Away shirt: 8/10

-I will say this shirt definately worth the time to wait, because we all know nowadays it's an epidemic for football clubs fumble out of their away shirts introduction tunnels respectively (say hello once more to Celtics 91/92:eek:mfg:; Coventry City 08/09:duck:; last year's Spurs:x and this year's Werder Bremen:suicide:), even Forest in recent year couldn't really select away shirt properly. Luckily, this year, Umbro and our beloved team finally picked a correct template and turned it into a much more adorable garment in front of our long suffering pupils.

Two flaws in my opinion can be amended and actually improve this already fabulous shirt into another level of elegance. First those red stripes on each side of the shirt can be modified into slimmer, narrower fashion so they don't look so awkward in terms of shape and creating such strong visual effect especially when the foundation is pure white:ph34r:. Secondly, I do want to see either the Forest logo or the "forest" insignia can be added on to the shirt's back part of the collar area like how Umbro did to last year's away shirt, and that would create another strong visual effect, only in positive terms. Maybe we can see those changes appeared on 11/12 season.:dan:

In conclusion, the Forest 10/11 kits collection is a massive success to say the least. I really do believe both shirts can be proudly possessed even if you are neither a fan of Forest nor even a fan of football altogether. Those shirts are the better examples that wise decisions can really lead into fruitful results, that football shirts can be the symbol of mankind pursuing better life, pursuing utter perfection, aiming the utmost brilliance while not satisfying the flawed status quo... What the hell am I saying:bite:, just go out and grab those damn shirts, I can get ten can't you get at least two ?!!?:spankarse:

Nice idea for a thread and I'm inclined to agree with you on just about every point.

The red strip on the away shirt is certainly a little garish for my taste and in my opinion should not exist at all. In fact, a complete colour swap with the home would have been fine by me like the old school "Home Ales" bad boy with the squares from the 80s.

God I wish I had that shirt now. Anyone got an old XL knocking about that they want to shift? :)

Nostalgia thinking, I want to bring back many goodies from 80s too, and get rid of the cosmetic surgery completely. Cheers!

BTW, will the store provide badge adding service for the away kits? I didn't see that option on personalization section.

The away kit is really nice, and reminds me of that red and white away kit from 2002

Honestly, if you think the price tag for a football shirt is a rip off, go check out a replica NBA jersey (not the authentic one), and that top doesn't even have sleeves. :p

I've quite liked the recent blue away kits, although I had found the home kits rather dire... This years away shirt is a cracker and I shall be ordering one...

The last decent blue away top we had was back in 97/98, I think it was our third kit. I LOVED that!

I have the home shirt. Can i just say - the shirt material feels so much more classy than the material of last seasons Spurs shirt i have. The Spurs shirt is like a net fabric...and feels a bit 'meh' in comparison!

I can't get over how well made it is - looks much better in the flesh than it does in the pictures too.

I prefer the red, I want to buy it tomorrow so i can wear it @ Burnley, But not sure if its wise driving into there with 'colours on' as i've never been before.
