Shame we couldn't have maintained that all season.

Lets hope we can start next year like that. I wouldn't mind the league table looking like that after 6 games. 2 points per game is league winning form. We have shown we are capable now we need to add consistancy and strenght in depth.

Off topic but Preston must be confident now they are in the playoffs.

Out of interest, does anybody know what the league table would look like if taken from Christmas? I think we'd be pushing play offs maybe?

I can remember somebody saying before the Burnley away game that we would have been 9th if the league had started at Christmas but i have no idea where this info came from?!

Well I think under Billy Davies, we have played 20 league games and picked up 26 points.

That works out at 1.3 points per game.

If we had carried that form all season: 46 X 1.3 = 59.8 points.

That would have put us 13th in the table.

Wouldn't start getting too excited, If I remember we had this form (if not better) under BFJ, the season after we all know what happened

Also, does that say our last 6 games have given us 12 points?? So 2 points per game.

Extend that for a season: 46 X 2 = 92 points.

Wolverhampton finished on 90 points this season.

I end up with:

Billy Davies: 20 games, 29 points. 1.45 points per game.
Pemberton: 1 game, 3 points. 3 points per game.
Calderwood: 25 games, 21 points. 0.84 points per game.

Pretty clear really!

Although Pembo also oversaw our win at Man City in the cup!

I think we took 18 points from the first half of the season, and 35 from the second half. If we had an entire season like the second half, we'd finish somewhere about 8th/9th, which shows we have something to build on.

Winnits, I think CC had 25 games in charge, your figures are a game short somewhere.

You're right, spanner, I am! Gives him 0.84 points per game. I shall amend it.

Yeah, well noticed, it was 29 points for Billy. Which is a really decent ratio.

If we maintain that next season, I would be happy.
A mid-table season with a stress free ending would be such a welcome change! ;D

We're all going to try to think that, and then end up dreaming of sneaking the play-offs anyway, ignoring our own advice ;D

Amen to that!!

Circa 1.5 points a game is decent :) Considering some of the shocking games we had too it is pretty amazing he averaged out at that level.

I'm planning next season's preparations. We've had our time for celebrating and joking.

If Winnits' figures are correct, then Davies' form as manager stretched over the season would leave us on 66 points.

That is level on points with Preston in the final play-off spot!

Sorry, I read the wrong column lol

With 66 points, we'd have finished 9th/10th.

Were you working on the scenario of every team above us being docked 10 points for going into administration?

So we've established we'd have finished higher in the table
