I dont understand people on here and especially on the EP website. When we signed a few players the other week we were going up now we miss out on a plyer we are going down. Why dont people just leave the experts to it. Everyone thinks you can just go out and buy which ever players you want. Its not that easy and im sure Billy Davis and the panel are doing everything they can to take this club forward. Lets get behind the team what ever happens

The trick to this is to realise the two sets of 'people' you identifed are in fact separate groups.

yes, i for one will do, and always back the team. the only point is defence is a priority - and we all know what happened last season, with a complete neglect of the defence in the summer transfer window. we're just praying for no repeat

I've been on LTLF for nearly a year now and I wish I knew why people are why they are on here.

me too - we've got one of the most exciting wingers in the Championship in Anderson, One of the most exciting midfielders in McGugan, One of the most experienced and best strikers in Earnshaw, best keeper in Lee Camp. A chairman who keeps coughing up up the money to sign new players, a manager who knows this league inside out.

We will be competitive this season - we're on the up. I don't get all these negative swines saying we'll go down. If we'd had Billy from the start of last season we'd have been comfortably mid-table - all of us would have taken that at the seasons start.

We do need defenders but the season hasn't started yet. Also Billy Davis might have worked on one or two things with the defenders we have got. Im sure forest have a plan B

Correct! I am a man of many voices, opinions and views. I am the eternal optimist when it comes to Forest but am also very pessimistic about our chances of signing anyone.

There's just under a month until the start of the season and for all we know, we could sign another 3 players between now and the first game... we might not. We can't do much about it so people moan about it constantly I don't know. That Van Hooijdonk fella should just not be allowed to start threads, that'd halve the problem for starters.

It is amazing how some fans come in and out of the woodwork to either big up/put down our chances. Its the nature of the beast though. Its peoples personalities and how they deal with it. I can assure you this is the absolute best forest forum there is. Most others are at times simply awash with abuse, sniping, people wanting to be cock of the forum etc. God only knows what it was like there when we were in League One, it was pretty annoying on here at times. But in general we just talk about whats going on here, who we'd like to sign, who played the best in a match etc. It's as close to being what I actually come on here for as you're gonna get.

Top post pal. It facks me off that some people just haven't got a fackin clue!
Do they think that BD/MA/ND are not aware we need some new players?!!!
Lets keep faith, so far we have signed fans fave Camp, a top up and coming quality winger/attacker in Ando and Mcgoldrick, and experienced pro Adebola. All of these players REALLY wanted to come to the Reds. Good business so far imo. All for about 1.3million!
On top of that we've sorted the contracts out of some of our other best players, Cohen, Morgan etc. Personally i think we are going about our business pretty good so far, and as far as we all know, are still in the hunt for the likes of Gunter, Mills, Blackstock, Fox, Lynch, Osbourne, Mcsheffery, Mckenna and probably afew we don't know about.
Yes, we may have been let down by Arthur and co. in the past but i think they have used those experience's and are putting them to good use in trying to negotiate the best deals for Forest. Lets stop panickin, please!!!

Spot on! Forest have not officially said we're after most of the players mentioned. Any we have enquired about have come to press because of the clubs the players belong to. Nothing like an auction to get more money in. Barker was a player we obviously enquired about, set a price for etc. The Sheep bust a gut to sign him and paid over the odds. If we really were that desperate to sign him, I would have thought we would have out-bid Direby. We have loads of time - we do need a CB or two, Gunter, McKenna etc but it's not life or death. Some of those we have looked at, may very well come to Forest for knock-down prices ........ if we wait a bit. Many of these clubs are poor - if we wait, they will know that they will not be able to realise their assets before the winter transfer window, unless they sell. It is a buyers market. There are other players as good as Barker, if not better. How come people are saying we have a worst squad now than at the end of last season????? I'll bet, we have improved the squad considerably come august.
