Favourite Kit ever!

Well, with the new pinstripe kit being a bit of a marmite, is it time to share our favourites again? This was a favourite of mine in 73. Even though it was still the old City coat of arms, the white sew on badge had been replaced with a classy embroidered one. I liked the one colour collar and V insert , which stopped us looking like Man Utd. I searched everywhere without success to find one. Of course I do prefer the iconic tricky Tree , but this had something about it. Maybe I just miss being 17!

Hi Ado, I was going to reply to your other post about the Bristol Rovers game but this one seems apposite enough.
What was the thinking behind the change to black socks the season after this one?
Were fans pre-warned or did Forest just run out in them at the start of the season?
I know black socks were worn in the 20s and 30s but I'm guessing "throwbacks" weren't a thing back in the seventies.
Any replies appreciated and thanks.

I bet Robbo and O’Neill would never have thought they would win the European Cup having just been relegated.

There’s a lot to like about it, but it’s another shirt that reminds me of a relegation season. There’ve been too many if those, haven’t there?…

It felt to me at the time that someone liked the bits of black Manchester United had and decided we should copy them.

The green third kit from ‘93 is my favourite, and the one I’m missing from my retro collection that I want the most. Can never seem to find it.

The Rhubarb & Custard will become a nostalgia classic in years to come. So bad it was good, arguably our most joyful kit in modern times, maybe ever.

My lad has got that and he was looking on eBay the other day and there were 2 available. One was £150 and the other was £190.

The one at £150 wasn't even in mint condition.

Very few of them available and he said he's going to keep it now as it'll probably be worth a hell of a lot more in 5-10 years.

From the day I saw it, it reminded me of this popsicle we had in Greece when I was a kid. :ROFLMAO:

Also, I might be wrong but, didn't we have this grey camo with orange trim as the 3rd kit that season? I don't like camo but those colours were cool and I remember one particular game under the lights at the CG, where you could barely distinguish our players wearing it through a thick mist.
