Favourite away days

Just interested to hear fans opinions on there favourite away day this year. Not just results but the whole experience. Apart from the obvous (Man city) mine would have to be Coventry as the fans were relatively freindly yet still passionate about their team and also the veiw of the action was good

I disagree with this, one of the worst ground for atmosphere, didn't look passionate at all. Didn't really speak to locals, and my view at the front was cack, felt about a mile away from the pitch.

I sat towards the back in the centre of the pitch
 
My favourite so far has to be Charlton away. The performance was poor but we got our first win under Davies in front of a very vocal 3000 forest fans who had made the trip to london. A few of us from this forum then went for a night out in the capital and ended up getting completely smashed,, it was all round a great day out. I didn't feel too good the next morning though!

Honourable mentions for other away days have to go to Bristol City, Crystal Palace, Norwich City and Derby (FA Cup game). These all stood out for me not just for the football but the days experience as a whole.

Worst away day so far - Plymouth (ok so Wolves beat us 5-1,, but at least it was only an hour down the road!)

I thought wolves an alright ground with decent atmosphere although my veiw was crap as i was crammed in the right hand corner and although we did get hammered we had a look around the town and it seemed like an alright place
 
:D gratz.

Bristol and i forgot about charlton.. first game in charge for billy and was pretty comfartable and we looked good... fans were good and the trip thier wasent that bad. love it when billy come over to us at the end , felt good to be forest.
 
I also quite enjoyed the day out at cardiff even though it ended the run i expected to lose anyway
 
Derby, without a shadow of a doubt, we were up for it, they were up for it...................One of these footballing nomadic types from Grantham, goes all over the country, has not stopped talking about the atmosphere generated at both cup games, he is able to compare with all the major Derbies, did not reach the heights of Celtic/Rangers though :eek:

Norwich was a fun trip this season, as have been most of them! Least enjoyed Swansea and Wolves as I went unaccompanied.
 
Would have to go for the obvious Man City vote.

Talking about it with my mates, saying things like "as long as we put in a good performance" ... or "be brilliant if we could get a draw and replay at home"

Then we thrashed them 3-0. Our support was so great that day - and half time in the concourse was really special. Great day.

it wasnt that bad and there was a market stall selling replica shirts managed to persuade the bloke to sell me an old forest for a 5ver instead of a tenner bargain :D
 
I thought the Southampton game was a pretty good day out but the pre-season game against Offenbach was awesome!

Thats what i thought. Ive been 4 times to Molineux now and my opinion of the place will never change.

The wolves folk are disgusting vile creatures that constantly foam at the mouth and need mass culling. Its like walking into Mawdor everytime i go there. I hate them nearly as much as i hate Direby and Leeds scum. Horrible accent too.

On the other hand, my favourite away day had to be Southampton. Went down very early on the coach, had a 3 hour stayover in a Winchester pub and got p***ed up, before goin to watch the game. Crackin atmosphere and Garner scored one of our of our goals of the season so far :D :D :D
 
Southampton as my first away win of the season having missed Palace was ace, Norwich for the fillip after Boxing Day and the sense that this was the reward you got when you stuck by the club in darker times, Charlton for the big following on an icy day and Billy's first win, and of course both Derby games were ace.

Edit - worst are many and varied, Wolves, Preston, QPR, Cardiff & Swansea all awful but Plymouth takes the biscuit in terms of just how bad we were that day and the fact that they were similarly dire yet beat us through a comedy deflected clearance off someone's backside which their striker latched on to.
