Should this thread be entitled "Christ! Gunter" or perhaps Chris Gunter really is Jesus reincarnated

Maybe I can't really let on all that I know or who my source is (his Dad perhaps ;) )

strange interview this one
he says the lads are full of confidence but i think that's what they are lacking

Less hope he can perform a few miracles this weekend eh....

In response to the thread starter I thought your comment was unnecessary. Gunter's interviews always make him come across like a sound lad, confident without too much ego and fairly eloquent for a footballer. Obviously he also has to do his talking on the pitch... but I believe he will.

Nothing wrong with a bit of positivity. I'd be worried if he carped on about unease in the camp (not lee) , inadequacy and another year fighting relegation. Also, its pretty unlikely he's going to criticise BD's selection policy openly in the media.

It feels like he's in the papers or on the OS nearly everyday with his positivity. I'd like to see some outcome rather that a running commentary on how great it is to be in a side that plays well every week but can't win a game.

What would you prefer? The players being full of doom and gloom about our recent run? Gunter is trying to show the fans that the players still have confidence and instill some positivity in the fans ahead of a game we have to get something out of! Wouldnt be surprised if Billy has briefed the players on what to say to the press. I personally feel slightly more positive going to plymouth after reading that! So stop being so bloody negative!

I'm not negative. I'm postive that we'll pull out of the mire and make a good fist of it.

However, I don't like the constant talk: "we'll batter someone soon", "promotion remains our intent", "it's criminal", "we're unlucky but confident", "it's just a matter of time", etc, etc, ad nauseum.

We had this at the beginning of last season. There are are too many players talking the talk but, as it stands, the walking is a bit lame.

Fair comments from Gunter IMO but I agree that the positivity from the team and manager isn't exactly doing anyone any favours. I'm almost certain that we won't see a repeat of last season but that's always the danger, Kinnears first season in charge noone really expected relegation on the cards. Then again we have a seriously improved squad and I still would be happy with consolation this season.

there is nothing "strange" going on and we are not suffering from any "bad luck". There is no such thing as bad or good luck we are just not playing well enough to win games we are also picking the wrong teams to play in certain matches. Its redicluous that someone would say we are playing well when we are losing/drawing. We may be passing the ball around well and making chances but that is not good enough Im afraid. Somewhere among the ranks there are players playing shit, be it the strikers not scoring or the midlfield not creating chances or the defence letting in goals. We have to play well as a unit and everytime there is something that is crap with some piece of the unit, unfortunately in this game that will let the whole team down. Every player has to do his job and in our team I would say there are a handful of players doing well and the rest are playing shit.

I humbly apologise and repent for that thing I did with the Black Pudding. I was young and foolish and have lived a good life ever since. I hope you can find it within you to forgive me.

If your Dad put you on earth to endure suffering on man's behalf, how come you ended up as a professional footballer earning thousands of pounds per week and being able to shag any bird you wanted?
