It was buying the LTLF fanzine that attracted me to the site many moons ago. I think this type of thread highlights the differences though and polarises opinions between sets of followers who all want the same thing at the end of the day.

It was the humour by the way that did it for me. Each to his own.

Brian, Tricky Tree and Forest Forever were all excellent.

Blooming Forest used to be excellent, last time I read it (some time ago admittedly) it seemed to devote about 6 pages to match reports relating to their five aside team.

I quite liked the LTLF fanzine, it was above average :)

I still have four copies of the LTLF magazine. How many were there?

While LTLF was the best (who can forget "Meggo in Lego" - the legendary lego match reports which were truly superb and inspired), I confess to growing up on the almighty "Brian"...edited by a lady whose name escapes me at the moment - Julie?

Blooming Forest is the only fanzine i read. This was many years ago during the days when Kinnear was in charge. Most of the time it was an entertaining read.

I used to write regularly for the Blooming Forest but it has finished now so I dont think there is a Forest one at all.
Plenty of input, wit, passion and knowledge from the members on this site so is anyone interested?

Having dabbled the logistics are too much hassle, and the fans too disinterested.

I thought LTLF was excellent and great value for a quid - but we struggled to sell it. Sadly the instant nature of website updates means fanzines will always struggle to get off the ground.

I think the only way it would be viable was if you either compromised heavily on the quality (which Alex was particularly protective of) of the paper/printing or ensure you have a good level of advertising to cover the costs making the cash sales a bonus (or potentially meaning you could give away the fanzine similar to the Ballsmania model).

The Almighty Brian fanzine was essential reading in the day, had a few things published in there and still read them quite regular. LTLF second of course.....

Only ever read the LTLF one (of which I still have every issue in mint condition 8) ) but it was excellent :)

Was gutted it had to stop, used to look foward to that popping through my door every few months.

Brian for me........always wondered who "Teacherman" was....especially after seeing two of my teachers from Wheldon going to a game around the same time as it was in its prime.

He was good, Teacherman. I wonder if he's reading this? Perhaps it was one of Winnits' earlier alter-egos?

I was in print many times in Brian, as Airhorn Alex.... Happy days in the Trent End, smuggling one of those in down my trousers.....

Not me :)

I did have an early alter-ego but it never featured in the Brian :)

I used to write regularly for Blooming Forest, the Editor changed and the quality went massively downhill. Shame it's no more though.

The editions last year where a shadow of its former self.

The ones during the Kinnear era were great though.
