Nottingham Forest and Leeds United have both been charged following a mass confrontation between their two sets of players in Sunday's game at The City Ground.

Both clubs have been charged under the FA's new fast-track rules with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion, and have until 4pm on Friday to respond.

The charge is specified as non-standard in line with The FA's new fast-track rules, which can be viewed here.

Meanwhile, Forest's Chris Gunter has been charged with violent conduct following an incident in the same fixture.

Gunter has been offered the penalty of a three match suspension and has until 6pm tomorrow (August 18) to admit or deny the charge.

all we need, and the second time in successive seasons we've been up before the FA for similar incidents. Bet they'll come down even harder this time. And Gunter could have a 3 match ban....great
 
Good old FA. Always there to **** us over, never there to help us out when something happens to us.
 
I take it we couldn't manage to swing 'the referee punished it at the time with a yellow card' loophole perfected by top Premiership players over the years?

this is what t.v. has done to the game if it hadn't been for the t.v. both players would have just got a yellow card and that would have been the end of it.
football is fast becoming a joke and i really feel sorry for the refs when every decision they make is questioned by some prat like andy gray or alan hansen.
sky has ruined football!

and my personal view is that gunter should take the 3 match ban because there is no way he going to get away with it.
 
Them cheating bastards in Wales get a top premiership footballer and we lose one of our best players for 3 games because of handbags. Why do bad things happen to good people!

So Gunter has been charged with violent conduct, has the Leeds player who pushed him before his foot had even landed on the opther players boot been charged with assult then?

I'm pretty certain none of the officials saw it or had any clue what happened, so god knows what they booked Gunter and Watt for anyway.

It is never the instigators who get in trouble. Like with the Clint Hill elbow at Palace and McEveley horror tackle at Pride Park last season (both red card offences which were only given yellows), Gunter needs to not react so angrily. If someone treads on your foot, don't tread on theirs - either ignore it or like the Sheff Utd bloke did to Wilson, you go down and get the other guy in trouble, not yourself.
 
Gunter gets done for this, yet the dirty leeds bastards get nothing dispite being well just dirty leeds the whole game
 
Watt no charge!? The FA is a laughing stock, only a glance at the thing's taking place in south Wales says it all.

which part of the incident didnt you see, the leeds player looks as though he STOOD on gunter (accidental maybe who knows), Gunter then gave him a dig with the left, Watt didnt do anything so Gunter STAMPED on his foot

he did it and he deserves a ban, 3 games, he is lucky, i would ban anyone no matter who they play for, for 10 games, out and out thuggish behavior. I love a good hard tackling game but that was a cowards thing to do, makes it worse that he turned and walked away instead of facing whatever was coming next


do you think Cloughie would have stood for it, no he would have probably sold him after clouting him round the lughole

Don't think anyone will argue that Gunter deserves a ban, but the Leeds player did the same without being provoked which in any reasonable mind means he should have a harsher punishment, right?
 
thats not nice to a newish member Tom lol

i say it as i see it mate, to many footballers these days are either dirty cheating twats or soft diving bastards, I dont want to see them at Forest or anywhere in football

I agree with you in most cases, but Im a forest fan, so on this occasion the FA is wrong in my eyes :)

apart from Gunter getting charged nobody else should especially the two teams, if the ref & Linesmen had been doing a decent job it could have been dealt with a bit better, but that would probably have meant Gunter getting sent off, most likely out come will be Gunter gets a 3 game ban and both teams warned about future conduct, and maybe a suspended monetary payment

I've just seen this on the BBC highlights and to use the term "violent" is absolutely laughable. And it looks like Watt treads on Gunter first.

The only violence though is the reaction from the Leeds thug... so why hasn't he been charged?
