FA CHARGE BOTH CLUBS!

FA charge
Thu 03 Sep 2009

The Football Association has charged Nottingham Forest and Derby County with failing to control their players and officials while Forest striker Nathan Tyson has been charged with improper conduct.

The charges relate to a mass confrontation between players and officials from both clubs at the conclusion of the match at The City Ground on 29 August. Tyson's charge relates to his behaviour after the final whistle.

All parties have until 18 September to respond to the charges.

Not really much detail there, is there?

I'm guessing it's just a fine? Has Tyson been banned?

At least they have (or appear to be) putting some blame on Derby

Forest Chief Executive Mark Arthur said: "Nottingham Forest and Nathan Tyson will be defending the allegations vigorously and look forward to presenting our case with evidence at the appropriate time."

That makes me think they have seen and have copies of the fans videos from youtube, maybe they got them removed to stop Derby having them? Let Derby make lots of false claims and then show the FA what really happened!

Seems to me like forest have some good footage maybe even better than what was shown on TV as forest wouldn't defend it if they wasn't sure like the chambers case

I expect the sheep boards are going mental now from those who weren't at the game an only have BBC's comments to go by.

I hope part of our defence will be identifying the antics of Savage before kick off and in the cup game last season.

Part? I think that's our only defence!

Other than CCTV and fans videos showing that he didn't uproot the flag from the corner, the video evidence showing him not stopping and waving the flag, the video evidence showing him signalling towards the fans in the upper tier of the Bridgford End and further evidence to show it was players such as Leacock who started the problems and forced the situation almost into the away supporters.

Tyson was daft, he's been charged so fair enough.

Derby's players then attacked him so they've been charged, fair enough.

But how can they charge Forest for 'failing to control our players'? It was Derby who decided to turn it into a scrap, no football team on planet earth would stand idly by and watch a team mate be manhandled by several of the oppositions players. For both teams to receive the same on these grounds seems mightily unfair to me. Leacock and Teale should be the ones in the dock.

Given that, they will see Leacock with Tyson doing nothing much really, until three of your players come sprinting over and start pushing. To be honest I think everything has been said that could possibly be said on this. We all knew both clubs would be done and that Tyson would be charged with something too.

I had a quick look on a Derby forum to find out what their reaction was to it and there's not too much so far other than criticising us for defending ourselves against the charges.

This made me chuckle in another thread though...

Lets make pride park a fortress this season, with players like Savage, Addison, Dickov and now Hendrie, plus others, teams should be worried about playing at pride park this season!

Rightly so, it would be unjust to just charge forest

You see what it actually was that when there's a push or a shove Tyson doesn't fling himself back 5 foot and roll about like Savage does, you're just not used to seeing someone being honest on the pitch. Leacock and gang quick clearly came over and grabbed him and gave a few shove so how you can say nothing happened until other players arrived is beyond me.

Video evidence?

He waved at the Derby fans.

As much as I support Tyson, and think it was a fantastic thing to do, he did gesture at the Derby fans. I love him for it, don't get me wrong, but all this 'he was just on a lap of honour' and 'he was looking at the Forest fans above' stuff is nonsense.

He knew what he was doing, it was obvious what he was about to do, and it was, as a Forestfan, absolute class.

The Derby fans may moan, but roles reversed, they'd have loved it too. They all enjoyed Savage and his scarf and badge kissing, as well they should. I seem to remember remarking in the Southbank that night that I wish we had a player who cared enough to pickup on the rivalry in such a way. This season we seem to have one. It's football, lets just get on with it. I imagine there will be a similar antic should Derby beat us in January. THey may say there won't be, but I bet there will be, and there should be. It's great for the fans to be able to identify with a player.

The fighting is a separate incident, as anyone with a bit of an eagle eye, would have spotted Tyson was down the other end of the pitch when the punches began to be thrown.

Sky sports news have just confirmed the charge and went on to say ..

"Rams players Leacock and Teale confronted Tyson prompting the majority of other players to get involved"

I didn't say nothing happened, I said there wan't much going on until 3 of your players sprinted over and started pushing. Savages antics of falling over like a girl do not come into this discussion.

It's a fair result, we should have been reprimanded and have been, you knew you were going to get charged too. I agree wich Rich, we would have reacted the same way had it been roles reversed.

He certainly was. I was laughing with my Son at the time noticing how Tyson had done a Savage - caused the trouble & then nowhere to be seen when it kicks off :D

I know that he is in the wrong but what pieces of video evidence do you think we'll use? All I was saying is I doubt we're just going in there and pinning our hopes on a youtube video.

You said Leacock did very little which isn't really true as he was the one who sparked everything off. My point about Savage was that he would have made a huge deal out of it and tried to once more screaming in the referees face whilst it was all going off trying to get players into trouble most likely, you know, just for a change as they should all be more angelic like he is.

Both clubs deserve some punishment and I believe us going in to defend ourselves won't be to get a charge overturned but to have a fine/ban whatever reduced. I expect us to come out of this a little worse than we should because whilst the FA has to be fair they'll also try and balance it with media opinion. For example if Man Utd and Arsenal had a bit of a scuffle in the tunnel after a match and nothing really happened but the media such as BBC, Sky, The Mirror, The Sun etc... had run stories about the disgrace of the english game then the punishment would be bigger than it would have been so they can seem in control to the masses that don't know the full story.

You might be right, you might be wrong. I'd suggest that the only person that really knows is Tyson, unless you have a unique degree of clairvoyance.
