Alright mate.

I'm flying out to Paris on the 17th October and just realised that unfortunatly it's the same day Forest play Newcastle.

I've noticed this game is actually featured on Sky, kick off time 17:20pm (18:20pm French time). I'm just wondering is there any bars in Paris that will be showing the Forest game? And If so, which would be the best to head too?

Cheers fella.

Brilliant, cheers mate!

Our hotel is in the 15th arrondissiment, so really close to the effiel tower. Just hoping I'm going to be able to catch the game over there and it won't just be French football that's being shown.

That frog pub is in the 16th arrondissement, its english and when we were there recently it had a big list of games that were being shown, rugby, cricket, football, basically a full sky menu.

Fantastic, looks like it's only across the river, so if they have it on, will definatly be heading over to The Frog ;D

Random question fella, how much is a pint over there?

It's pinte over there. Although etymologically related to the English unit pint, the French pint is about twice as large. It was the main small unit in common use, and measured 1/36 of a cubic French foot.

Tubo? Oui

If I was you I'd get a bottle

Worst comes to the worst, i normally ask in hotels, they are always keen to help out, one even rang round the local pubs and got a game on tv especially for us lot..!

As for price of a pint, i'd get buying some lottery tickets and hoping for the best..!

There are plenty of places, the frog will show it, but be careful ,there are about 5 of them and the one in bercy doesn't show it, I myslef will be watching it in les halles with pierre i hope and probably a couple of others, can't remember the address, will find out, its not too far from your hotel, depends when you arrive (flying from EMA , saturday morning??)
and the pub we watch it in is next to the red light district, so if we lose, you can cheer yourself up.

Thanks mate, that would be much appreciated. You are correct, we are flying out early morning from EMA on the sat and getting a taxi into Paris....so should get to our hotel around 11:30am-12pm, with plenty of time till the game.

I'm going to Paris to tek my missus away for her birthday, so unfortunatly the RLD will be off the cards, and if we do lose, she will have to put up with a very drunken sulk all night :D. (Thats if i can afford to get drunk)

If we score, try not to stand next to Pierre. He'll crush you like a grape, especially if it happens to be the Moose.

Not great with French though and never used the RER before, so not to confident on using the metro/train. However I have been told its around 12 euros, compared to the 60+ for a taxi? So might use it anyway, just to save money!!

I'll look out for a bunch of blokes p**sed up in Forest shirts :). Will join you for a beer if i find you guys!!

Don't worry about speaking french, just shout at them, they'll get the message eventually..

The signposts are all in English, you need to get a shuttle from terminal 2 (i think bmi is t2) to the station, all signposted, if you get the rer, get off at st michel and change rer to to line d, this will take you to the eiffel tower and you can walk from there
come join us fulf501, the more the merrier , i shall be here
getting drunk with a big frenchman
They have a downstairs and can split the tv signal, so even if they are showing one game in the bar , they can show another downstairs
and then there is rue st denis after...

Fantastic. I think i will give the RER a go then.....i'm sure people will understand English and it'll save me alot of money either way!! Abit of advice though Rouge, we fly back on Tuesday 20th at 9:45am (French time). I understand Paris is around 45mins away from the airport? So seeing as it'll be so early in the morning would you suggest the best way to get back to the airport would be a taxi? Maybe getting the hotel to book us one?

Just don't want to take any chances with missing the flight!

Think i'll head to the bar you guys will be, will be good to meet you for a beer :). Fulf501, as Rouge said mate.....come and join us!!!

P.S. - We fly into the main terminal at CDG when we arrive, and fly from terminal 1 when we return to EMA.

9.45 , you could get a taxi, it will be easier in the morning going out of the city, aim to leave about 7ish and you'll be fine.

We took the train back to the Airport- stupid train has two trains goign the same way - the only difference was a little yellow square on the sign - we ended up miles away and had to come all the way back to get the right train.

i did perfect my.

"Bonjour, durgh pan de chocolat sieve oo play". and "durgh beirre sieve ooo play" though. seamless it was after a couple of days.

?? surely if they went the same way you wouldn't have got lost

the line splits, you have to take the correct train, as indicated on a panel, simple really and the driver telling you that the train doesn't go to the airport, in english at least five times before the junction
stupid bloody tourists

Rouge, can you let me know where you will be watching it mate? As i'll be over there and looking for a pub with the Forest game on that evening.

Will also try and bring a pack of pork scratchings if airport security allow them in my hand luggage :)
