Ex England Interbational, who made wrong move on a free ?

From an unusual source....... who to my knowledge, has never, ever even seen the Admilralty steps.......has told me that Forest are looking at an ex English International forward, who made the wrong move ( A move abroad I think ) which for several reasons turned out to be a disaster and is now a free agent.

As usual the sticking point being some outragous wage demands......wants PL wages to come and play in CCC, but has attracted very little interest elsewhere

could be vassel think hibs are interested in him aswell. hes had a nightmare in turkey, but has scored goals, from sutton coldfield aswell so might fancy a move close to home, I realy liked him a few years ago and thought he did well for england, played realy well in freindly againt the argies i remember rightly

Hmmm... It would have to be Vassell, I don't think there's another who fits the bill who isn't already back in England?

He has had some bad luck with injuries which blighted his time in Turkey, and the Turkish game has a lot of money in it, so he would be on a big wage.

Not sure if he's worth the gamble to be honest, depends how much he wants. But also I suppose if he's available on a 'free' then that is no cost to the club (and thus, subsidises wages...)

EDIT: Just thought - the only other prospect would be Derbyshire who went from Blackburn to Olympiakos, but I think he's pretty settled there?

Heskey isn't a free agent.

And thank **** for that.

If I had to guess, I'd say Vassell. But is he significantly better than what we have for the money he wants - he would (I think) be a similar "type" of player to Robert Earnshaw?

I heard similar, but a centreback not a forward... links in with the new rulings on Premier League squads having to be pre-determined, and an injury problem that might make him not be included in that squad at the start of the season.

As I said, teller of such tales, never been near the steps, but it did seem to a genuine bit of info/rumour ( Is there such a beast ) I have no idea who though, seeing if they don't play for Forest, or have done they are under my radar...sad but true

Won't be Derbyshire since he was in an article a couple of months ago in FourFourTwo where made it clear he was pretty happy in Greece, loving the lifestyle, club, fans, etc.
Vassell is the only one I can think of, unless Pennant's contract is about to be ripped up. I can't see that happening and I would be really surprised to see Vassell sign for us. More chance of him joining a MLS side I reckon.

I would rather sign Harewood than Vassell, I still think he would do a good job for us.

Vassell on the other hand has scored a massive 21 goals in the last 5 years and is well over the hill. We can do better than him.

Vassell is only 30, loads of experience, would run rings around Championship defenders. What you save on the transfer fee as its free you can pay on the wages.

If he doesn't make the Spurs 25 (who came up with such a ridiculous rule anyway?) id reckon one of the old firm would have him on loan till January when he could play for Spurs again.

I've thought long and hard about this. The only true interbational is surely Stan Collymore. He made a point of interbationing on a regular basis in car parks.
I think he'd be great for us, even at the age of 95.
Bit of a petition is all it might take.

His middle name is Victor and he has interbated with several members of this forum.
