Even the media can't put a downer on the night

More biased bollocks from Media outlets again... A really well rounded post match analysis which focused almost exclusively on "Should it have been a corner" (Why yes Peter Beagrie, yes it f***ing should) and "McKenna should have been sent off" (Possibly, but so should have their lad who hit out at Wilson)
Both Maj's and Cohen's goal will rank up their for goal of the season but ignored as much as possible.

Ref wasn't too sharp either - lost control of the game.

But........ :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Mattock was lucky to only get a yellow in the first half.

We should've had a penalty, McKenna was lucky, first goal probably shouldn't have been a corner.

As you said, lad should've gone for hitting Kelv.

That makes it sound really bad - but aside from those I thought the ref had a good game. I realise I just said aside from those (potentially five match-changing decisions) :D

I'd rather see a ref let stuff go then be overbearing and petty blowing his whistle ever two seconds.

He missed countless free kicks too. Wasn't surprised we didn't get the penalty, were short changed all night.

Don't care, 2nd place!

What's with the chip on the shoulder? They do that sort've thing for every televised game.

The fact is, they were impressed by us. And so they should be!

I think for each of the freekicks we didn't get they probably didn't either - he made mistakes, sure, but I certainly don't think he was biased against us. Normally I hate refs too.

That really annoys me about the Sky Sports generation.

Endless replays of that corner decision, and they still can't say for sure, yet they still lean towards it not being so as that adds a bit of controversy to it. What utter shit, it still looks a corner to me but the fact we can't agree on it just proves it shouldn't even be a talking point. Why always the sensationalism? Just show the real footage and f*** off.

i thought peter beagrie was pretty good myself. man both of them were jizzing all over us. you could see kevin phillips bottling the "who will go up?" question and being forced into saying west brom cos he knows he's a hero there.

i thought the ref was decent. it was a penalty though.

mckenna, yeah it was dirty, but jara should have been sent off for cuffing wilson round the head, and bednar's elbow wasn't exactly "fair play" either, but it was a freezing, full-blooded, physical game and that's the way teams are setting themselves up against us now because they don't know how to stop us.

i have to say how pleasing it was to see mckenna go and check he was alright. i am really impressed with the way he carries himself on the field.

I think Ando had a number of decisions go against him in quick succession, including the pen. This riled most of our players and we only just about held it together, discipline wise after that.
The media never get it 100% right. In the paper tomorrow it'll say we won 1-3 and deserved it.

the best line of the night came from goodman i think, when he said something along the lines of

"not sure wether it was a corner in the 1st half and I think that was a penalty for forest, BUT THE OFFICIALS HAVE HAD A SUPERB GAME"

talk about contradicting yourself, dumb dirty wolves bugger

It wasn't a corner, it came off Blackstock last but the ref wasn't know that and lets face it's the sort of thing that happens about 6 times a game where the ref has to make an informed estimate. If we hadn't have scored from it and they'd cleared it they would have said nothing.

I actually thought though that Sky were pretty fair tonight. I've never liked Beagrie as a pundit but he gave us our dues and I thought Kevin Phillips (who came across as a very articulate and knowlegeable bloke) was very complimentary indeed.

No complaints than me, far better than the guff served up by the BBC (which in turn of course wipes the floor with the "coverage" served up by ITV in recent years.)

Corner or no corner. WBA got away with loads. Thomas' ridiculous diving in the first half the ref had his whistle in his gob before our player even got to him! Ando got kicked over a few times from behind, should have been yellows and Olson tried to boot Majewski off the pitch and got away with it.

And Beagrie is a know nothing shit talker. Whenever I've heard him talking about us he seems reluctant to praise us, a bit like Bassett used to be when he was on tv. Biased pundits, great. Not botherd though, the more they down talk us, the more pressure it takes off us and we can just keep on doing our thing :) We'll take the credit at the end of the season if we go up.

Ads, have you watched the coverage yet? Because the pundits loved us.

Well there was 5 or 6 subs, 3 goals and a couple of injuries. It just seemed to take aaages because the second half started so late.

Through gritted teeth :) Claridge was a bit like that a while back but I think we've turned him ;D

I thought Sky were typical Sky.

In the run up they bigged us up so much you'd have been forgiven for wondering what team we were playing against. But at 3-0 on 55 minutes the game was over... the only interesting thing that could happen at that point, as far as the neutral was concerned would have been for West Brom to turn it round and come away with an incredible 4-3 victory for them to spunk themselves silly over. Thankfully Furious Bill (Taa for that WIAN ;D ) wouldn't allow such injustice

To be fair to the pundits, their job is to talk about disputable decisions within the match that had, or could have had a big bearing.

when Dex scored his goal the West Brom defender was practically ripping his shirt off....obviously loves us so much he was after an early souvenir lol

From the Daily Telegraph match report...

The cross came in from Majewski, and Blackstock slid in, Gabriel Tamas attached to him in the manner in which a baby chimpanzee clings to its mother.

I too couldn't believe that. Four at most. Still, we slaughtered them!

I have to agree with the 6, you get 30 seconds for eacv sub, so that's three minutes, and between Camp spending half the second half rolling around the floor and McKenna pole-axing their guy that probably accounted for another 3 minutes.
