Evan Ferguson [BUPA]

Injured again

Ideally Evan Ferguosn (sic) would be the man to feature in his absence but the Irishman, who continues to be linked with a January move away, is also struggling his his foot problem “If he was fit, yes, he would be [playing],” Hurzeler added. “He will also be out. Like the last weekend. It’s not an easy issue. But I hope that it doesn't take too long.
"So let's see how it's going. Also, I don't want to make or say any clear predictions because I don't know. We really have to go week for week and hope that he's a good healer.”

Asked if it’s the same foot issue that forced Ferguson to have surgery last term, Hurzeler added: “It's a different ankle, the other side."
Sounds like he's just what we need if the plan is to limp over the finish line.

Yeah there's nothing to recommend him unless we have a faith healer and a fortune teller on the staff

Yeah, I think we are seeing why he's gone from being hot property to Brighton wanting to loan him out.

Brighton aren't exactly known for letting good young players slip through their fingers either.

There's a few issues with Ferguson for me:
  1. His injury record is a huge concern. Whilst we do have recent history in getting regular games out of formerly injury prone players it's a big risk.
  2. From his point of view surely if he's leaving Brighton he's looking for regular first team football. As things stand he's not going to get that here.
  3. As mentioned above Brighton don't tend to get much wrong in the transfer market, why would they even consider helping out a current rival unless they know something we don't?
It's a no from me.

Can we close this thread, like a turd in water, it makes me nervous when I see it rise to the top.

I hope he doesn't end up like Connor Wickham, who was of a similar build and style. But injury problems saw his career stagnate on the whole.

I've heard rumours that because of his injuries, he's really struggled with that and is drinking a fair bit. Hence why Brighton think a change of scenery might do him good for a short period. Whatever the case, I genuinely hope he finds his way out of it all. Because he's a major talent.

Nothing former about it. He is currently going through a 12 month injury spell after a short period of actually looking half decent.

As mentioned my Brighton supporting friends don’t have the same view of his ‘talent’ as outsiders as they see the other aspects of his game.

Assuming you’re referring to CHO he was at least playing injury free (confidence / ego completely dented) for a long time before we gambled albeit a fairly uninspiring move to Germany,
