I could understand being sceptical about the club's business if it came from someone like Daniel Taylor, but going all conspiracy nut over a tweet from bloody All Nigeria Soccer is a very strange hill to die on.

What dies Henshaw actually do out of interest? Is his data analyst thing legit or is he just another trying to make a name for himself? Not being snarky, just interested.
Answered my own question after a look at his linked in - works fir sky betting, got a couple of data stints, probably as part of his uni course and had six month spell with Wigan, presumably part time as he was still with sky.

I find internet personas fascinating.

If it was a mail by a Nigerian prince it would be more believable.

He creates good content.

But comes across as a bit of a tit. He often talks down to people & talks in riddles half the time. If you have something to say, then say it.
Huge ego.

His content is ok. I don't think it's groundbreaking. Presenting data in nice graphics is just presenting data in nice graphics. Much prefer the account which dissects Forest highlights of good/bad tactical play.

While you're on, GBG . . .

What - if any - history is there of Big E buying players for Oly that the coach at the time didn't want?
None. There have been cases of the club signing a big, expensive name for marketing reasons which was not the proposal of the manager, but always with his approval. The chances of him wanting to impose a player to Cooper are pretty close to zero, in my view.

What Marinakis Jr?

He's an unknown for you too I guess?

He's certainly getting the glory from some quarters...

I mean so? Miltiadis has been working for the club for a year now and Dane's and Cooper are both still here. If he was a disruptive despot we'd know by now. I see it more they send him to do the sweet talking of a player Dane & Co really want, allowing Dane to do his job as a CEO and Cooper as Head Coach.

Doesn't seem like Miltiadis has any sway on identifying and selecting players. Just feels to me like he just gets the deals Murphy and Cooper want over the line, which I don't see a problem with.

Here is a revolutionary concept for the naysayers; maybe Dane and Coops work to identify the players they want, and Marinakis Jr is the charm-offensive who sells the Club to the prospective target?

You know, like a proper team?

I remember a certain Managerial duo at Forest who worked in a similar manner; one of them („the goods in the back“) identified the players, the other one („the shop window“) worked to convince the player to sign.

Indeed. I'd prefer, however, to have a source slightly more reliable than a random Nigerian site in order to believe that he would do something so nonsensical.
As I posted earlier, the story was broken in a UK tabloid paper on Monday.

While I'm not fan of The Sun and I'd always advise caution, it the biggest selling daily paper here if you want size as a form of substance...

When you read that article it is excuse my French full of shite, "does not seem", "appears", "claimed". Lots of adjectives that tell you they know f*** all and are stirring up shit.
