Elliot Anderson

Is he technically still our player until after the World Cup as the formalities will not be completed until after EA has finished up at the World Cup?

For those who really don't like the media pretending Anderson never played for Forest, the Times have just come out with this headline and subline. :)

Newcastle produced £116m Elliot Anderson — Premier League stiffed them for it

Club were made to sell homegrown talent by bogus financial limitations, allowing Nottingham Forest to cash in as Manchester City — of all teams — flex their financial muscles

Newcastle rated Elliot Anderson so highly they barely played him.

Honestly not sure how these journalists get paid. I won't go on another moany rampage about the facts of the deal like how Newcastle valued the signing of Max Kilman higher than retaining Elliot though, promise.

I thank the stars for aligning and give praise to the club for achieving the valuation that they have done and him for his efforts (Particularly with the passing of his Mum), but in a way im glad to move on from the speculation.

We'll see if he and City will thrive post Pep.

It is sad to finally see him go, even though we've been mentally prepping for this inevitability all season, and it's a shame that he's gone to such a loathsome gaggle of cheats in Manchester City - but, cheats or not, they're one of the world's best sides and he really does deserve a chance to show his talent at the highest level.

Was honestly a pleasure having him here and he deserves huge respect for his conduct from day one to his departure today - especially for remaining entirely professional and respectful throughout the entire transfer saga. It could have easily got really ugly for us if he'd have kicked off when the initial bids were being knocked back, so kudos to him. Not many players have such a level of character.

Ultimately though, it was just so enjoyable seeing a player who is that good playing for Nottingham Forest. Especially if you spent a significant portion of your Forest supporting life watching John Curtis attempt to play in midfield during the League One days.

Yes-it was only 20 or so fairly short years ago we had the likes of Eaden,Padula,Dobie and Cullip fannying around.

Sorry to see Anderson go but we still have some very good players.

Thank you, young man. You did yourself and your family proud.

For us, its not just the performances and subsequent fee but the legacy (as mentioned in today's Athletic article by Tails)

"....And it has been at Forest where he has been given the room to flower into the player he is now. When they were attempting to persuade Anderson that a move to Forest was the right step for his career, that is precisely the selling point that the club offered — the promise of a stage on which to grow."

Let's hope we can "rinse and repeat"!

Thank you Elliot.

You have been a fantastic player for us and watching you develop as a footballer and person has been a privilege.

Not only are you a great footballer you seem to be a great person too and you family can be justifiably proud of you.

All the very best for your future. You deserve it.

Now clear your locker and bugger off.
