earnshaw out for SIX WEEKS?

saunders:]

The bloke at my newsagents said today that earnie will be out for as long as six weeks. He is the kind of guy who likes to pretend he knows more than he does, so i was just wondering if anyone could shed light on this?

Not heard anything about time. Did hear it was a hamstring, which are 2-3 weeks max.

Well, he's been selected for Wales so I can't imagine that's the case, unless this chap in the newsagents knows something nobody else does.

Hamstrings can take 2-3 seasons to heal or in the case of Michael Owen, 2-3 decades. In earnies case, he should be fit by Saturday!

This Newsagents wasn't in Bridgford was it? It's probably Nigel's brother trying to put the wind up us

Sounds like a load of old shite to me. I would not risk him tomorrow but all being well he should be back for the weekend - it is a bit worrying that the club have not given us any update though?

The silence is a bit deafening, but six weeks would seem excessive given his international call up.

Definitely wouldn't risk him in the cup game.

Is your newsagent Billy Davies or Robert Earnshaw? If not, i wouldn't trust what he has to say.

Well since it is only a hamstring strain 6 weeks sounds a little extreme ::)

I would have thought he would be on the bench by the time we play Man U next Sunday ;D

I read somewhere of his "international heartache" or something like that. Making it out he has withdrawn from the international beacuse of injury.

I can't find anything anywhere.

BBC, Welsh FA website are both reporting his call-up and no withdrawal.

He did say that but then he was included in the squad anyway. This would lead me to assume that 6 weeks is wide of the mark.

He could be out for 6 weeks it is true, but he could be out for as little as 1 week, depends on how bad the injury is.

Remember when they said Bennett was going to be out for 8 weeks and he was playing for us the following Saturday.

I reckon he'll be back for Saturday's game.

What I don't understand is the term 'doubt'.

Will he have a late fitness test if so?

Probably means he hasn't trained since the Wednesday game and his first session will either be today or tomorrow with a fitness test before the match.

Oh I see, thanks for that.

Needless to say, I've got my fingers crossed he is fit enough.

No mention of Iron Nate or Cohen there, can we assume that they're available? And Big Wes?
