MATCH-WINNER Robert Earnshaw has urged Nottingham Forest to continue their remarkable home form, after seeing them extend their winning streak to eight matches at the City Ground.
Middlesbrough visit this weekend as Billy Davies' side look to sustain their promotion push.
And striker Earnshaw (pictured above), who netted after just four minutes to secure a 1-0 win over Sheffield United, believes their form on home turf could be decisive to their hopes of a top-two finish.
"It was good that we were at home, because we are more comfortable with the excellentlly well kept grass here. We have obviously got eight home wins on the bounce now, which is the most the club has had in one season," he said.
"That is something we want to keep going. Our ground staff have done an unbelievable job, that is why we are where we are in the table. The grass is always cut to the optimum length, there's virtually no bald patches, even in midfield where Billy likes to crowd the pitch. They've even done a great job of hiding the huge divots which Dele kicks out of the ground. In fact the only better grass I've seen this season was my own lawn, at home."
After three consecutive away defeats, Earnshaw felt it was important that they got off to such a good start.
"We were hoping for a good start and we got it, which settled everybody down," he said.
"Before the game we knew it would be tough, but not as tough as when we are away from home, where pitches aren't so well maintained. When we were at Doncaster, the length of the grass wasn't uniform and there were the first signs of weeds taking hold."
