Ffs glad we didn't get him, Palace are fkin idiots.
We sold Elanga for £55m so it's nETsPenD of only £45m on them.Good signing, proven creativity and goal threat in this league. Would rather have had this than £100 million on Hutchinson, Ndoye and Bawkwa.
Palace messed them about too ? Probably knew we were interested and took us out.The deal is off - staying at Everton then
What happened to McNeil is no different than what happens to dozens of footballers, each and every transfer window. The whole business is an absolute farce. I'm sure Palace are no more guilty of dicking a player around than the next club and we ourselves will have done it to several players in recent history I'm sure. The difference here is that you don't often get a light being shone on it in such a frank way by someone who's affected by it.Just seen the quite lengthy post by his girlfriend on Instagram, actually feel really bad for the guy and seems like Palace did a real number on him. Sometimes the side of football we aren't privy to seems way worse than the grubby side we do see.
Hope people will start to see Parish for what he is.
It also works the other way where players are at a club ready to sign and then the agent gets a call and they piss off down the M1 to sign for another club. What happened to McNeil is no different than what happens to dozens of footballers, each and every transfer window. Without a fundamental change to the system, we are stuck with the twice a year clown show.
Only in the sporting industry, and only in football very specifically, is this a thing. It wouldn't be considered in any way reasonable or acceptable in a different sector.
Yeah but there's no personal life impact when it's that way around. It also works the other way where players are at a club ready to sign and then the agent gets a call and they piss off down the M1 to sign for another club.
They're both laughing about it now but here's a funny story with Mick McCarthy and Steve Sidwell on the Peter Crouch podcast about Sidwell doing exactly that.

True, but surely it's rare to be 99% of the way along and then just blank the player. At least we told George that we didn't want him back in the day. Not giving the player a call is infantile at best. What happened to McNeil is no different than what happens to dozens of footballers, each and every transfer window. They can say what they want about EM, but at least he's the type (or seems to be) who will look you in the eye and tell you how it is.
Sounds like he was promised and had agreed a 4 and a half year deal too so he has been hung out to dry by the looks of things.Looks like his partner didn't get that move to London bless her..First world problems.
I hope she can get over this traumatic event.
