Concrete links you ask? Well no, other than he's a concrete type of player who has so far followed Dyche's career.

I called this weeks ago and remain convinced that he will be ours this window. More so today given we apparently baited NDoye to Inter.

So yes, hard worker, technically decent and can actually whip a corner/free kick. What's not to like?

As for timescales, I reckon the second NDaiye's plane touches down and/or Dewsbury Hall returns he's ours...

I'm down with it.

It's not a particularly exciting signing but it's a pragmatic one. We don't really have any wingers in the traditional sense. Ndoye, CHO and Hutchinson all like to cut inside as inside forwards and Ndoye is more like a raumdeuter (sorry for the oldies who don't like newer football terms).

And we definitely need that winger type on the left hand side rather than the right, as with Aina, Savona and Williams in the side there's plenty of options to choose an overlapping right back, but with Williams on the left he likes to cut in on his favoured foot, and Zinchenko also drifts into central areas, so we have no natural width on the left.

If we can get it done for reasonably cheap then it makes sense, and I'm not going to pretend I can think of any alternative left footed left wingers that would represent an alternative option at the moment.

Go get him fawaz.

Same page. Trusted lieutenant type who Dyche has previously gotten the very best out of, as well as effectively utilizing his set piece delivery.

Not flashy (though can actually play that way at times), very hard working and will know his role/what's expected of him to a tee.

Also always does well at the city ground, so even if he only plays the remaining home games we can expect at least 15 G/A. (I joke, though it's been a very happy hunting ground for him as an away player.)

He always seems to score/assist against us, so at least he wouldn't be able to do that anymore.

I wouldn't be against it - he is a good player. He's actually not as old as I thought he was either. Seems like he's been around forever.

I think the timescale on this one is when there main man returns from AFCON. They also now have the Grealish suspension to deal with.

I wouldn't mind McNeil - decent player. Feel like the fee would be more than he's worth though? They paid 26m for him and they do use him every now and again. Would be a public show of support for Dyche from the club if we shelled out for him, as I can't imagine he is that high up on Syrianos' list.

Wonderful, spend money and give a nicer 4 year contract to someone the next manager most likely won’t want. If McNeil were really any good other clubs would have snapped him up by now.

What a great way to run a football club.
Well, that was kind of my point. We shouldn't be buying players for Dyche if he just a stopgap til the summer

People were quite slit over John McGovern who had followed Clough around like a pet poodle.
Maybe McNeill is dyche's McGovern?

Although we obviously do need another centre-forward, a dominant midfielder and an orthodox left-back, my guess is that our recruitment this window won't be geared towards Dyche's preferences in terms of actual individuals. This lad may be an exception - potentially seen as someone who will also suit Sean's successor next season (Marco Silva or whoever?).

Thing is - if you asked half the people grumbling about us buying players specifically for Dyche what profile of player they personally would go for it probably wouldn’t be that different to what everyone is assuming Dyche is after. Especially up front.
