I genuinely think there’s some fans on here who if EM came round and smashed their wife before wiping his knob on the curtains and putting his foot through their telly they would say ‘Thank you Mr Marinakis’ and then blame Nuno or the PGMOL for it.

Wasn’t even that bad a season anyway. We lost a few more games than we all hoped but still made the semi final of the UEFA cup. Boo hoo. I reckon the squad is stronger than this time last year as well.

Not too worried or fuzzed about the backroom changes. VP and the coaching team is in place, that is the most important part at this stage in the off season. We also got Syrianos and Pedro Ferreira leading the scouting, which is also more important right now. I'm sure there are people around who can do a better job of giving the club a direction from the top than Lina and Edu. Marinakis made the calls that actually mattered this season. He wanted to keep Nuno, he made one mistake in hiring Ange, then let Edu make a mistake in hiring Dyche. Then he made the right call by bringing in VP. He also was the one fighting to keep MGW when other people was about to cave in.

It's easy to believe that EM is a demanding taskmaster, but as I commented in her thread, the fact that she was working in Nottingham whilst her husband and kids remained in Rome could well have been a significant contributory factor in her decision to step down from her role here.

I agree I’m sure it may be.
For me it’s less of him being a taskmaster and more that he’s clearly driven by emotion and rather erratic. As someone that’s worked both as, and alongside, CEO, I know how important it is to have a calm and collected board/chairman/owner with clear and consistent vision. Also having a clear ownership of what they are and aren’t involved in. Dealing with emotion, volatility, turnover and moving goalposts is a bloody nightmare.
