The senior players Marinakis talked to last night will be MGW, Murillo, Anderson, Yates, Aina, CHO. 5 players worth a lot and the Captain. Wood isn't worth money now. He is making sure these fish know just how big they are in this pond. Why go and be small in another similar pond?

It won't work on all of them, but your pick of managers and semi guaranteed starter status in a league your club is ostensibly large enough to survive in is a good deal for the right money especially if you've England ambitions. Anderson need only look at Grealish or the other England player City wasted.
Swap Murillo for Milenkovic, and you're nearer. He'll have spoken to most of the players, but, he'll respect the leadership group.

One thing: the club did execute the switch of horses mid-stream very effectively. Less than 24hours after the wolves disaster the old regime is out and a new guy with a record of short-term impact including premier league experience is installed and ready to go.

We had the best under Nuno and bringing in Ange Poste Sean Dyche and now another basement manager who knows whats going to happen. This all lies at the doorstep of Maranakis what a mess he has made. Flying under Nuno European football and what now.

Ignore the clickbait title. Simon Jordan went in to bat for Marinakis in the main here. It's always even more satisfying when he's putting those insufferable pricks Jim White and Keown back in their box.

Simon Jordan was really good here in offering a measured perspective.

Pride comes before a fall, should have just had a conciliatory meeting with Edu and Nuno. This position untenable narrative is thrown around too quickly these days.

I've got a lot of time for Simon Jordan even though he's an acquired taste. He consistently goes into bat for Marinakis. I think he secretly likes the gung ho swagger of the big man. And crucially he knows that Marinakis has earned the right to make these decisions because a) he's bankrolled the club and b) he's brought the good times back after a quarter of a century.
On a separate note, did anyone else notice former BBC journalist Pat Murphy, being all pi**y on X today? I don't know what Marinakis did to incur his wrath. A journalist and broadcaster who I used to rather like. A man who I thought had a soft spot for Forest. He certainly did whilst Clough was in charge. He's evidently spent too much of his dotage covering Villa and Wolves.
