Think it’s one of those whereby we have to cancel rather thank juve being able to recall, if that’s the case, we should have cancelled after braga!

Wanted by Chelsea and Villa. Teams pushing for the top 4.

But can't get in our side.

This will probably do wonders for his neck tbf, not having to watch all those long balls punted over his head.
Tbf under ange he did have a couple of good games but was injured for most of it. Ange was suited to getting the best out of him. Waste of time sticking him in a dyche team, best outcome for us and the Luiz.

This doesn't make sense, you are basically saying that it is EM's fault that he told Edu to buy players that everyone else wants - surely that's a good thing?

No maranakis and edu bought what I still think was a decent squad. However because Maranakis wanted Ange which I don’t believe at all to be Edus choice it’s cocked the whole thing up. Now we have a manager in situ who can’t get the best out of our squad. So if Maranakis wasn’t so fixated on a terrible manager like Ange this probably would have worked. It isn’t hindsight either everyone and their dog said Ange was shit.

I hold Edu almost entirely accountable for this transfer though, Luiz agent and him are so closely connected and the deal simply would not have been on the table if those parties weren't besties. Bigger picture maybe its worth a conversation as to how Marinakis has given such a big role and responsibility to Edu but its unfortunately a transfer that has Joorabchian and Edus sticky little fingers all over it.

That may deffo be the case but equally if we had a decent manager who plays more to the entire squads capabilities I still think Luiz would have been a decent signing. He looked very good under Ange but it’s a shame it was Ange who totally neglects any defensive organisation so we couldn’t win any games.

He had his chances but never looked capable of playing for 90 minutes, sadly.

The structure of the loan seems OK. Forest had plenty of time to work with the player and decide whether to sign him permanently as one of the squad's highest earners. That beats regular scouting.

Just another roll of the Dyche
f*** me!!
Some people just can’t resist sticking the boot into the club about anything!
He was nowhere near triggering his obligation of more than 15 Premier League games of more than one half. He missed more games than he played because of injury.
It was worth a try because when at his best, he’s top 6 quality. Unfortunately, we’ve never seen that player.

Not really bothered he's gone. It looked good on paper but take the Wrexham and Braga games for example, I would've expected him to run the midfield - but the reality was the complete opposite, we looked even more shite. Onwards and upwards.

But you know that if and when he plays for Villa he'll be back to his best. It's just a Forest thing
And therein lies the benefit of Villa taking him with an option to buy rather than an obligation. They've got the opportunity to play him into fitness rather than looking over their shoulders as to whether they trigger a purchase.

We could never do that because of the uncertainty over his injury and not wanting to trigger the clause. A deal structured in such a way and knowing the circumstances which was just ridiculous and benefitted absolutely nobody.

As I said before, I hope we have learned from it.

I'm not sure he'll do anything significant for Villa. Might prove me wrong but I'm happy if we can replace him with someone who can at least run about a bit.

Were we ever likely to get close? 15 45+ minute appearances? How many times did he manage it?

Shame, cos there's a player there, big time. And now Yates and Sangaré are back you could have managed his game time. Perhaps Luiz himself no longer wanted to be here?

I believe he did 11 or 12. No doubt he could had had a couple more, had we chosen to sail closer to the wind with that purchase obligation clause. Anyway….here endeth a rather disappointing chapter.

We could come up with quite a decent XI of washed up big names who've played for us over the years.

Ian Wright
Andy Cole
Lord Bendtner
Linguard
Origi
Douglas Luiz (OK maybe not over the hill yet but very disappointing)

And some famous nameskes
Pele
Cafu
