Doughty - Jekyll or Hyde?

How can such a phenomenally successful businessman make such amazingly deadful decisions? Almost £1.1m invested in a party led by the loser that is Gordon Brown & the idiot that is Mark Arthur appointed to run his football club. How the hell is this guy so bloody successful?

He's bloody successful because he knows more about business than you, me or anyone else on this board.

He probably doesn't let the Companies he invests in spend beyond their budgets and throw themselves into debt and wage costs they can't afford.

Oh, and in answer to this question - why do we all continue to pay money to Nottingham Forest despite the fact that we're not a good as we used to be and don't appear to be getting back there any time soon? :D

Put it this way

Without his money Forest would be nothing, and never would be anything

He's a saint kid.

Without his strong leadership, managers such as Billy Davies could ruin us.

Nigel Doughty is one of the most successful businessmen in the country.

Does that make him Jekyll, or Hyde?

I've no idea.

What I do know, is he is a Forest fan, and that's good enough for me.

Doughtys neither jekyll or hide.

Hes clearly more like bruce wayne. International playboy and industrialist by day, ass kicker of crime at night.

I bet he jumps around on rooftops up canning circus fighting crime.

"criminals are a cowardly and superstitious lot,You'll hunt me. You'll condemn me. Set the dogs on me. Because that's what needs to happen....I am the night!"

Beat me to it. I cant decide though whether he was being sarcastic or not.

Oh stop being ridiculous.

Everyone knows the Haiti Earthquake was Marthur's fault....

:D

I heard marthur was secretly building a death star, and thats why the plans for the eastside project recently leaked. That was great work by the bothan spies...many of which died...to bring us this information

Very obviously sarcastic! He's wrong but sarcastic....tutts has the nail and head posts in this thread. Though the rumour I heard was Mark Arthur is disdainful of the power of the deathstar and woe be tide anybody who mocks his sorcerer's ways

does the issue of Nigel Doughty being so astute actually affect our ability to take as Robbie Le Pop says...'a calculated risk'?

For me that is the ultimate question!

I would say Doughty's continued success in the business field, has had the adverse affect, now, as the sole owner of Nottingham Forest F.C. By halting the clubs certain financial demise, turning the business model around to something far more succesful and one of the few clubs that is not in financial hock to anyone else but the owner'

So as Forest come knocking, no doubt other clubs chief execs reach for their calculators and the + sign.

Nigel Doughty has saved Forest and will not pay over the odds to enable another club to build up it's coffers.

Some of the threads on this forum lately are just pathetic, including this one. The standard of this forum aint what it was imo.

I heard Doughty recently bought a new bathroom carpet - a shocking decision. Surely he should be consulting fans on what he spends his money on?
