Dexter Blackstock insists Nottingham Forest's slow start to the season is no cause for concern.
The Reds have rather stumbled out of the blocks this term, taking one point from their opening two Championship fixtures and crashing out of the Carling Cup at the hands of League Two outfit Bradford.
They are, however, producing enough during their games to suggest that results will come sooner rather than later.
Sunday's 1-1 draw with Leeds was a prime example of how fortune is not favouring Billy Davies' men at present, with enough opportunities created to have wrapped up all three points.
Blackstock, though, is confident that the goals and performances will come and is refusing to read too much into the early struggles.
"There is no panic, that is the message," he told the Nottingham Evening Post, after opening his account for the season against Leeds.
"There are 44 games left and nobody is worried that we have not won either of the first two in the league.

"Performances have been good and anyone who watched the game will know what we can do. We just need to keep going; if we have a bit more luck things will change for us.
"If Earnie's shots at Burnley or against Leeds - which hit the post - had gone in, rather than bouncing away, things might have been different.
"We would rather have more points, but that is how things go sometimes.
"We have had massive chances in the first few games, which shows that we are doing something right.
"And that will change as well, because we have players here who can score goals, not just up front, but in midfield as well.
"We are not worried about that, there is no panic here."

I dont think its the results that have got people concerned, its the awful performances. That have been produced
 
and those that we saw towards the end of the season, the lack of signings the paper thin squad and public fall outs didnt help either

Were Burnley, Bradford or Leeds any better though? No. So just what kind of quality you expect is mystifying! Over the last couple of seasons, have you seen any other team do what Forest did in the first 30 minutes against Leeds? I haven't. We saw Newcastle and West Brom stronger, fitter, faster and a lot more ruthless than everybody else but they were effective more than easy on the eye.

Blackpool didn't batter us by playing constant one touch football no, they played simple, direct balls to the front, took people on, put it in the dangerous areas and put chances away.

Personally I'd sacrifice a bit of that nice football for not giving Leeds an equaliser and 3 points - like Burnley did to us.
 
Wasn't Billy given a 3 Year Plan to get back to the Prem?

Last year we were told promotion would have been too soon.
This year we were supposed to be building and consolidating for a serious challenge on an Auto Place position. Had we brought in a couple of quality signings over the last month then most of us would believe the plan was on track.
Yes the League is not won over the first two games BUT the challenge from other clubs for a Top Two Place has now got stronger and we are saddled with still limited resources.
 
if we don't sign anyone then do we just say " oh well see what happens in January " ?
 
Yeah that's probably where we will bring someone in but i would hate to think the club are thing " we will wait to get someone in on loan to see if there any good then bring them in ". All so we didn't have to pay a big sum upfront.
 
The thing for me though is yes, we might have the Loan window to exploit (I've pretty much given up hope of permanent signings now, hope I'm wrong though!) the problem with loans is that they are just that - loans.

Whilst we could bring in a player or two in September, maybe even for the balance of the season, at the end of the season we're then left with the player leaving, so then we have to replace that player "again", before the next season (regardless of which division we are in).

We don't seem able to act quickly to bring in players, and that worries me, as the squad takes longer to 'gel'.

Hell I'll still be at the City Ground watching the Reds - at least it isn't boring!
 
Everyone connected with the club has gone on record saying we need quality players to compete for promotion, billy has been saying it every day since hes been here, Mcarthur et all as well, we have money to spend, 1.5 odd mil up on transfers, we have 2 players apparnatley agreed terms and want to come, so whats the ****ing problem?

Someone somewhere needs a ****ing good kick up the arse!
 
SH********T im scared, how can we possibly mess up such a fantastic situation. Teams know how to play against us now, even Leeds. We need something new

This will be a fight against relegation Mr Blackstock, from what I have seen we are ****ing ****e, and it's back to league 1, 3rd tier standards again.

Mr Davies has 9 games left to prove that the players are worthy of wearing the Garibaldi.
Or piss off, its simple.
 
I should do as me old man and not have anything to do with cyberspace because he is not one bit bothered anything that is being talked about and just thinks well we will get someone in one way or another and seems quite calm about things.
 
we were fantastic in the first 30 mins but lacked the killer instingt, we will get better and keep the performance going through to the final whistle. Just wait and see who we bring in in the next couple of weeks. Have faith in Billy.
