Donny Parking

Mk2Ellis

A. Trialist
i'm going to the match on saturday and was just wondering if there was any known safe parking near the ground?
or am i just best to park in the ground parking facilities?

There is loads of places to park near the ground, on & off street. But all looked a bit hectic last time after the match.

If you get there early there's LOADS of parking in and around the soulless industrial estate that the ground sits in. Would avoid paying. Get there a couple of hours to kickoff or earlier and you should find a spot easily enough.

Park at the Lakeside shopping park (bit like McArthur Glen). Go early though, everyone else will be thinking the same.

Think it was donny that had the crap food & beverage facilities. Half decent pub would do nice.

getting out the ground last year was a nightmare, took almost 90 minutes just to get on the M18

We parked in Car Park A, right next to the ground.. I wont be making the same mistake again. :)

Sounds better then having the half filled cup of tea I got last time lol

Donny's ground is the reason I don't want Forest to move to Gamston or some other suburban outpost. It's a terrible treck to the train station, there is only an awful charlie chalk pub near the ground and the ground is a boring flat pack effort.

So what if I was 16, are 16 year olds not allowed on here or support Forest?

In Donnys defence, they have got a Real Ale place "The Toad Brewery". just opposite the running track next to the ground. but I guess Forest colours wont be appreciated though.

maybe we can set up a Donny vs Forest challenge... 4 laps of the track,, drinking a pint of real ale at the end each lap. first one to finish, or last one to puke wins..

before the Preston game we was sat in one of their pubs up the road having a drink with their fans all nice and peaceful. Donny fans ain't a bad bunch are they ?

Can't be, they were our first mixed family section team.

The people of Donny are fine, they just still point at aeroplanes and stuff like that.

That'll be that silly named airport. Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Banana Squirrel Airport.

Just checked the website ...Toad Brewery looks great. Unfortuanately I am off the beer for 8 weeks [ 3 down,5 to go ] so I will not be there. However if I was drinking it would definately be a case of cover the colours and put on my best "Eh bah gum" accent and sample some top real ale straight from the brewery.:cheers:

A cunning plan is to book a table at the Pizza Hut which solves the problems of:
Parking....in their own car park
Eating.....pizza or whatever - better than in the ground
Drinking...Not as good as Toad Brewery but better than the ground or getting crushed in the only pub.
If you book you can also walk jauntily past those poor souls queuing for a table. Did it last year.lol
