I'll be going with Alvar Hanso. Tbh we'll probably go by train and have a drink or ten in Sheffield, last time I went to Doncaster it was a shit hole and I haven't seen much on the news about it having changed!

I was going to drive, but the train is around £5 or so from Long Eaton so I think that will more than out-weigh petrol, parking and ofcourse invaluable drinking time!

It's a tricky one. The only decent place to drink in South Yorkshire is Sheffield, but that's half an hour away on the train.

Whos going then?
Any information on parking and an away pub would be much appreciated thank you

Loads of on street parking around the ground, pub wise there is one about 2 minute walk from the ground on the outlet village although cant remember its name. A little further away there is a pub near to the old Belle Vue ground near Asda the Cheswalds. Or when you leave the motorway coming towards the ground at the first roundbout turn left and down there is a pub/restaurant called Woodfield Farm. Both of these are about a 15 minute walk from the ground. Although the Cheswalds is the wrong side of where you come in from.

Sensible choice - it is still a shithole.

Last couple of trips to the Keepmoat we've parked up and had a pint here:

Easy to find from the M18 (just behind B&Q as you head towards Donny at Junction 3) and about 15 minutes walk to the ground

Know Donnie really well... There is only one pub near the ground "The Lakeside - Beefeater!" and i wouldnt bother!!! Be totally rammed as it always is.... Sure its for home fans also.

Either u go into Donnie itself (but its a 5hithole!!!) or you take sum cans urself! :)

Parking is allrite around the ground.. one big industrial estate with parking 4-5 quid!.. There is a dedicated away car park situated behind the training ground which is behind the keepmoat stadium!!!..

Yeah good thinking Dessie... Thats prob the best.. Still a good 20mins walk to ground over the train line.. And parking is ok around there.. on the plus side least at full time you will be walking past all the cars leaving the ground in the traffic jam!!

I live in Doncaster so i can give you expert advice, DONT pay for parking, there are lots of free parking spaces in the offices and units near the ground, when i can't make it to see Forest i take my nephew who is a rovers fan and i have never paid for parking. Regarding pubs, there is the Beefeater pub near the Lakeside village (3 min walk to ground) and also the Cheswolds pub (10 min walk to ground) plenty of free parking spaces there as well, there is a Sports bar outside the West stand at the Keepmoat Stadium, it is a friendly atmosphere that allows away fans.

Here are a few websites below that you may find useful.

By the way paulos22, Donny isn't a shit hole, there are far more worse places to go, besides there are about 20 decent bars in the town centre!
