Does it really matter

that we haven't signed anyone in the transfer window?

Yes it would be nice to have a new face but let's not lose sight of the facts that:

1. We have just come off an unbeaten run of 19 league games
2. Shorey played in under half of these
3. We have 6 forwards to 'rotate', and four of these would be welcome in any other Championship team
4. We have probably the strongest midfield in the division
5. Only 2 teams have scored more goals than us
6. Only 2 teams have conceded less than us
7. Most of the signings made by Championship sides have been Championship players (or lower). Would they have improved on what we
already have
8. We will shortly be able to make loan signings and a three month loan from 21st February will cover the play-offs (if we need it to)

Lots of reasons to be cheerful ;D

We've been lucky with injuries this season. Fingers crossed time!

Agreed, I think we should still be very happy with the season so far, but to have come so close and fail would be terrible. I still think we should have prioritised LB and have targeted more than just Shorey (the boy from Spurs thats gone to Boro is a case in point).

I think Saturdays game will show us a lot.

i'm mainly disapointed we didn't sign raddy on a permanent as i heard from a couple of people we was going to. but as long as we use the loan market well we'll be all right.

We have, but I also think we have good cover in most positions.
Moose to settle the midfield, Lewis for creativity.
Garath and Tys for pace and crosses. Goldie and Dele up front, not forgetting Garner.
Chambo at the back, shuffle it with Cohen dropping in...options options :)

It's certainly enough to get us promoted

We just needed a signing for the feelgood factor, and to replace Shorey.

I'm sure the current squad will be delighted no-one else has been brought in, but also mindful of the fact BD is looking at alternatives so they need to keep on top of their game.

We're 2nd, tha knows ;D

I too am still feeling full of positivi-tree.

One defeat in 20 league games? That's still promotion form, no matter what.

Making quality additions to a team which is gelling as a unit was always going to be more difficult than improving a side which was losing more often than not (last season...). That we lost out on our targets because Premiership sides wanted them only shows that we're targeting the right type of player to further improve.

Both very true.
Though if you look at the results prior to shoreys arrival, we mostly drew- or beat the teams at the bottom (newcastle the exception)

Depends how much Raddy wants to leave, which might well depend if we go up. If we're back in the Prem, he'll surely want to stay, and he'll be reet mardy if he has to go back and miss out. The chairman won't want a mardy player on his hands, it never works out. He's probably just trying to wangle the most money out of us possible.

Kyle Naughton is a right back, who can occasionally play right midfield...

There isn't an abundance of decent, available left backs though, that was the problem.

There is! Look I've just found one who can't even get a club...

Okay, bad example perhaps but you get my drift. :D

Yup I do, but other than Shorey I don't think there was anyone available that would a) be available and b) improve us. I still think that Perch can do a good job there anyway, one mistake in a game doesn't make him a bad player.
