Glasner greeting Dodo after being told Read and Anan Khalaili won't be signing.

Some of the comments, presumably from Fiorentina supporters, aren't at all flattering. They acknowledge his pace and his contribution to counter attacking, but really lay into his defending, and his crossing and shooting abilities. I know that some fans of all teams like to say that a departing player was actually just a crock of shit at the end of the day, but I admit to some alarm bells dangling at seeing these.

Hope it doesn’t work in reverse otherwise Coventry fans will be expecting 35 goals out of Big T!

Depends what Glasner is expecting.

In a wing back formation you're switching between 3 and 5 at the back. With full backs overlapping wingers it's 2 at the back, so should be more solid in central areas if not out wide, but the 3rd body in midfield also can help with that.

If we want a quick player who can help us attack quickly, which fits the profile he had with Munoz and Richards at Palace, then he probably fits the bill, in which case his attacking qualities would be probably seen as more beneficial than what's going on defensively.

Must have played a fair few games with Nikola .
Do we know what system they favoured in their time together
Must have been quite an understanding with the 12 inch height differential!

Milenkovic definitely played in a back 3 for Fiorentina. Looking at the stats Milenkovic played 83 games and Dodo played 71 with their time together between 2022 and 2024 so plenty of games for them to have built an understanding.

Not very often I watch Fiorentina unless they are playing Inter, but Dodo looks like he has some decent attributes with his pace and energy but I am not convinced by his decision making in either final third.

Like I say, I don't watch them all too often but it mirrors what I think. This feels (to me) like we are making do, sign him to compete with Aina and then goes off to Olym next summer while we go after our 'top' target.

Why do we want another right back when we already have three that can play there and are desperately in need of a left footed left wing back to spread the pitch wide?

Feels like a signing that could go either way but I’d have preferred a LWB (letting Neco revert back to the right) and it’s hardly a knock your socks off signing.

Definitely feels he was at least somewhat down the list of targets. Feels like a good attacking option but defensively could be a liability.

Fingers crossed he does the business.

Because this one is uninspiring and it would means there is only one more! I can’t believe we are going to come out of the transfer window with a net profit so I expect 2 signings to be a combined £100m plus a couple of others like this one.
Is it, does it? Okay.

Assuming cost constraints allow (SCR etc) I agree.

It was evident on Saturday that we are short of quality in certain areas which need addressing imminently if we are
to avoid yet another relegation battle.

We could do with moving a few of the squad players out as well.

So we are down to 3rd or 4th choices - not getting good vibes here. Trying not to be negative by remembering getting other players like Elanga and Antonio whose previous clubs fan were happy to get rid off.
