It would be used for 3 or 4 group games and probably a second round match or maybe quarter final.
Even the smallest venues used in the world cup are likely to get one or two of the bigger teams playing there.

Re: world cup bid

Would anyone mind if I respectfully asked a question? Can't anyone see any benefit to NFFC in building a stadium that we can use at times other than the World Cup? The 'party line' is
1. We'll only get a couple of games involving minnows.
2. It doesn't matter what league we're in and what quality of football we produce, we'll still only get 22,000 fans.
3. Sod ambition, the view of the CG as we walk over the Trent makes it all worth it.
4. I love the ground even though it's facilities are only on a par with those of most Championship and 1st Division clubs. Premier clubs are leaving us behind.
5. Sod ambition - let's allow Notts County to play that game.

Mark my words - Notts are planning to get to the top and will almost certainly build a super-stadium along the way.

^^^ Oh MY GOD! ^^^

Someone talking scene, ffs you fans are dragging us down.

And so what If it was one game, Its the world cup, the biggest competition on earth, its called pride in your city/heritage, using this as a reason for not getting a new stadium is b*****ks you are just trying to find every little reason to back up your argument.

DO NOT IGNORE THIS POST JUST BECAUSE YOU CANT ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTION

Anyway I set this challenge every person on this forum who is against the new stadium name more advantages to the city ground OTHER THAN ITS LOCATION

Reasons that will not be accepted (more to be added as I see fit):

> Location (1 step back/2 steps forward rule unfortunately)
> The new stadium will be a soulless plastic bowl
> We wont be able to fill it, the club will not just build a stadium, they will obviously mount a massive advertising and fan recruitment process with it... Either that or the people that run our club have very little business sense.

This should bring up some interesting and desperately put together answers...

Il be very sad to leave the City Ground, but new beginings and all that. Right now im swaying towards yes

2 - does any 1 want a new ground that we carnt fill

Nope, but I believe we will fill it.

3 - does any 1 want a new ground that is home of womens football!

I don't see what harm this does regardless.

itl only be used for two rubbish group games anyway

How many times.... this is complete bollocks.

then were lumbered witha ground that nobody wants!

Because you speak for everyone right?

I don't see why we're arguing about it - our opinions are a complete irrelevance to this whole enterprise.

Exactly.

There's been no attempt to even pretend to consider the fans feelings on the matter - or opinions, or seek input into ideas etc.

So we might as well not really bother and await what happens. The assorted elected bodies of the region seem to be doing a fine job of f***ing the bid up anyway, also without consulting the people whom they represent.

Because they know the majority of fans are wrong, Just because theres more of you supporting the CG doesn't meen you are correct... And the forest bored know this

Fans have never had much of a say about new stadia have they
i am sure City fans would've loved to have stayed and developed Maine road, Sunderland at Roker, Boro at Ayresome, Huddersfield at Leeds road...the list is endless really.
I would love us to stay but if financially its not viable then I will begrudgingly accept it and grow to love our new home.
Resistance is futile.
I would say that if a move is definitely on the cards it would be nice to be consulted about potential styles and designs of the new ground, although even that is unlikely

Resistance is futile

That quote was never meant the way it is now used, as according to a few business leaders that I know and a BTEC business course that I've done! I would know I had to do a whole F'IN assignment on that one phrase!

It's a reasonable point though.

Personally I'm not particularly violently against a new stadium. I am against not being informed about the plans and intentions of an organisation into which I invest a considerable amount of my time and money.

Economically that only works when the customer can exert power. Its technically known as demand elasticity.
When a product has limited substitutes, i.e. unlikely to switch brands it matters not a jot what the customer thinks.
The demand for the product will remain largely unaltered no matter if we stay or go.
I am pretty sure that smokers disagree wholly with the price of fags but their opinion is irrelevant because they will continue to smoke regardless.
