Disappointed with a mid-table finish?

Most of us said at the start of the season that we would be happy with a mid-table (top half) finish.

Is this still the case for you?

For me,although I would still see anything above mid-table as progression I would be disappointed with anything below 6th place now.

8th place will do for me still, I dont think we are ready for the premiership yet, unless, ND + BD have a huge spending spree, which could be possible?

Is any team actually "ready" for the premiership though?

You've been listening to too much of Billy's bullshitting

I'm a realist, I'd still be very pleased with top 10 as I would have been preseason.

I predicted we would finish in 8th place pre-season. I would still be content with that as it would represent fantastic progress.

However if we consolidate a position in the top 6 then I will probably be re-evaluating this.

I've got to admit, my imagination is getting carried away, and I'm already remembering losing to Sheffield Utd that year in the play-offs, I think most people are daring to hope we'll make the play-offs now.

If We start to look like we won't make them, I'm not sure how I'll feel. I think it'll be really painful if we end up missing out on the last day by 1 point or something like that.

I'd rather see us float around 7th-10th all season than see us in the Top 6 all season and then drop out of the Play-Offs on the last day.

We would not lose in the playoffs. Seriously can you see any team in the league beating us over two legs?

Draw away, 1-0 at home, see you at Wembley.

Yes.
If we finish, say, second, then we will be there on merit. It should never be too early to go up. Say we miss out this season and then have some disastrous injuries next season and can't even challenge, half our ambitious players will want to leave.
I want promotion - I've had enough of being down with the stiffs!

I completely agree with this actually.

I don't think we'll finish below 8th, and if we do make the Play Offs, there's a very real chance we'd win it and go up. We have shown we can already attract top players to this club. Promotion would make us an even more attractive club, and I'd imagine a good number of players would want to join us. If we went up this season there's no real reason why it'd be 'too soon'. Bring it on I say

There is no reason to change our pre season aims.

If it gets better than that (and it currently is for me at least) - Then what the hell, go with the flow.

If we make the playoffs it will be a spectacular season. Anything more would be almost dreamworld.

If we do make the playoffs I'd actually fancy our chances.

As to the question of 'are we ready for the Premiership?' Who cares? Let's just have fun finding out. ;D

We will finish 7th place after a poor run at the end of the season, I will be happy with 7th.

Anything less than a playoff position, for me, would now mean disappointment.

Our performances deserve nothing less and, whether we make it all the way or not, my expectations are now high.

It doesn't matter if we're ready or not, its a good time to get promoted as the prem is currently very weak in the bottom half. If we do get there and survive, happy days :). We won't be as bad as the sheep were so if it all goes wrong just take the money and go again :). Having said that I'd still be happy with top half, although I'd be surprised if we were as low as 12th especially with our relatively easy run-in.

Before the start of the season, I thought we'd finish 10th-12th; having seen how the team has improved, whilst I would be happy with that, I feel we're so much better, and thus think we might be a good bet for the playoffs.

Unlike many other clubs in the Champioship, we do - it seems - have money to spend if its needed.

So, I wouldn't be disappointed, no - anything better than last year is progress - but the way we have been playing I just think we might end up in the top six at the end of the season!

I actually think 7th on goal difference would suck. Particularly as I really fancy us in a playoff situation this time. I think I'd prefer a royal f*** up at the death and finish 10th than 7th.
