I disagree. I dont think he is good enough. Obviously I'd rather be wrongHe will come good for season 2 and 3 of his career with us, if he can stay beyond the haters/dislikers.

I'd be interested. Where do you sit on others who would hopefully do well after a settling in season or two (as is what is normal): Jesus, Ndoye, Hutchinson, McAtee, Savona, Cunha etc.I disagree. I dont think he is good enough. Obviously I'd rather be wrong
Others write everyone off who starts badly. Having seen the majority of big Premier League signings last summer struggling across the board, I'd say that patience was important. After Sangare came good people on here are making an assumption the other summer signings will do the same. I think Sangare’s renaissance is unusual. It’s more likely if they’ve been crap for a season then they’ll stay that way.
Someone, Edu or otherwise, must have seen potential in the players that were brought in. Some of the younger ones we would have been looking to develop before being first team regulars. All the changes in management will have done little to help their development I'm sure.Others write everyone off who starts badly. What's this word 'patience' you speak of, never heard that before round here?Others write everyone off who starts badly. Having seen the majority of big Premier League signings last summer struggling across the board, I'd say that patience was important.

It's what you find at the hospital.
I think Elanga is a much better player to look at for comparison. After Sangare came good people on here are making an assumption the other summer signings will do the same. I think Sangare’s renaissance is unusual. It’s more likely if they’ve been crap for a season then they’ll stay that way.

Tom Jones approves this postIt is not unusual
Sangare started performing when he was given a proper run of games, this will be the case for most players
Every club in the PL has a Sangare that just never got going until he was properly backed, it is not unusual at all. In fact it is very common.
Beat me to it with my loved by anyone line that was lined up.Tom Jones approves this post

Battlemuch was talking out of his arse on this. To try and judge any young winger that's barely played in a game where we were asked to camp 11 men behind the ball including the wingers is mental. That game is exactly the type of match that most wingers would use as an example of being a nightmare scenario for them.I heard Battlemuch say that after the Villa game he knew Bakwa was rubbish and shouldn’t play for us again. That he hasn’t started a League match since was used as confirmation.
The Villa performance was a joke, from the management right through to the players, especially the goalkeeper! How anyone could be judged on that, suggests a mind already made up. This may well be the case for many.
Agree, difficult enough for a lot of these players adapting to a new country and the Premier League, never mind doing it when the manager when they signed clears off after 3 games, the next manager is Mr gung-ho and lasts just over a month, and then the third manager is only interested in how far you can run every single day! It's been a very unfortunate season for the integration of new players, IMO no one should be judged on it.
I don't know why people compare the situations, if I'm honest mate. After Sangare came good people on here are making an assumption the other summer signings will do the same. I think Sangare’s renaissance is unusual. It’s more likely if they’ve been crap for a season then they’ll stay that way.
Its rare I'd write someone off after so few appearances to be honest, and I'm not any kind of qualified scout, but I feel I've seen enough to know he wont be a success here. With the others you mention the jury is still out.I'd be interested. Where do you sit on others who would hopefully do well after a settling in season or two (as is what is normal): Jesus, Ndoye, Hutchinson, McAtee, Savona, Cunha etc.
Your post actually suggests we need to be more patient with Bakwa than Sangare though, although I guess Ibra might have settled better if he hadn't had so many injury issues and malaria.I don't know why people compare the situations, if I'm honest mate.
Sangare was like 25 when he joined us, was a mainstay for Ivory Coast internationally, had been at PSV for three years and already had played in a bunch of European competitions for them. He was one of their best players too.
Dilane joined us at 22, played a couple games for France U21s and has only really had 3 seasons of men's football, one of which was in the second division.
Sangare was bought to immediately improve us but didn't really acclimate for two years before coming good. Bakwa was bought because of the potential he may or may not have. Similiar fees but very different expectations.
