just wondered what peoples thoughts were on david mcgoldrick? i personally like him and think he has grabbed us some vital points away from home most notable would be swansea victory. pretty sure he has not plyed in a losing side, i know with people i speak to he is not the most popular but having not played 2 games in a row all season, its difficuilt to get a good run of form going.

He's doing fine. Lacks consistency but he's very young and has talent. More one for the future than a first team regular this season. Hopefully he should blossom in the Prem.

Needs a regular run out and position for any of us to have enough to go on to judge him.

He varies from promising to ineffective and occasionally match winner. Well, once.

Did very little when brought on today. He had a good run in the team at the start of the season, never really been impressed at all. Hopefully will come good next season but cannot see him making many useful contributions in this one.

He nodded it to Perch who would've scored but for Hobbs (I think) handling on the line (which the ref predictably ignored).

I thought that was Blackstock to be honest.

Either way he was still pretty anonymous when he was on the pitch.

He struggles to make an impact, that's for sure. That's why I think he needs a run in a regular position to establish. Trouble is that's a luxury we don't really have.

Whilst I wasn't impressed with him at the start when he was starting games, he did look a hell of a lot better before he started being used as an impact sub.

Maybe Garner would be better off making an impact?

He has the technical ability and work rate to succeed here but not the footballing brain. Hopefully we can work on this and he can improve for next season.

I always think you need a bit of pace and Skillz to be an impact sub. Or a battering ram like Dele.

Neither Garner nor Goldie fit the bill there for me.

McGugan and Tyson fit that bill though and have proven on several occassions they can help turn a game in our favour.

To be honest Garner sprung to mind because of his late equaliser against Brizzle last season, one of the most important goals of the season.

Yeah, possibly.

McCleary has the potential to be an impact sub too.

Yeah, he has made a postive impact on occassions but I'm not a fan of his at all either!

Problem is with the squad being so small we lack players who can make an impact in a short space of time and a plan B when things go wrong, like today.

He aint that young. Birtles was the same age when he was scoring against Liverpool in the European Cup.

yeah and Rooney had been scoring at the top level for 5 years at his age, but no one is saying Didsy is as good as those two.

I'm just saying age isn't an excuse, he's getting on for 23 and he doesn't look any more like an out and out striker every time I see him. What he needs is a run in the team in his preferred position of just behind the front two. Only that won't happen while Majewski's here.

I think he has some good abilities, but he doesn't show them enough. I also think Garner is a better all round footballer than him.

He's got a great footballing brain but it tends to pick the ideal lay-off or through ball, as opposed to the one a Forest colleague is necessarily able to get on the end of. If anyhting he's been seen by me a good few times this season to be one or two ideas ahead of his teammates. Which bodes well for the future but is bugger all use to us now. Keep is simple, sir.
