been really good all season...but looked tired for a while now. and even admitted himself at times to feelin leggy. should we now leave him out until the play offs?

A rest wouldn't harm him and we're not short on forwards.

big garner fan so would like to see him given a go. looked like he was due to come on twice on saturday. BD sat next to him twice seemingly giving instructions after sending him out almost straight away to warm up start of second half. think the chambers injury seemed to change things.

Is Adebola injured? I'm guessing he is, as he wasn't on the bench on Saturday. If he is, this makes resting Dex slightly problematic. Billy's system, whether in a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3/4-5-1, is very much reliant on a hard-working 'target man', who can win headers and hold the ball up. Dex is clearly the best we have in the squad at doing this and the fact that Adebola has been so dissapointing has meant we haven't had much of an option to 'fill in' for Dexter, as we don't really have anyone else in the squad who can do this job...

Dex will chase all day for any balls, he really does look difficult to play against. I'd be disappointed to see him rested. But it would be nice for Joe to get a game up front.

I would say Garner could easily do it.

Have to play McGoldrick as a target man but play to his feet...

Don't agree. He lacks both the height and the strength to do that job.

Of course I'm not suggesting he's a worse player than Adebola, just think his strengths lie in other areas.

McGoldrick and Garner did well together in the 2nd half at Bristol and they had 3 brutish centre backs up against them. Although playing through the midfield to two small guys might be problematic on Blackpool's beach of a pitch.

He had picked up a bit of a knock but it said in the paper last week he should have been back for the game last Mon.

Not heard anything since so think Billy's just been giving the old man a bit of a rest while giving Garner a chance to warm the bench

I'd give a pairing of McGoldrick & Garner a go and use Blackstock/Earnie as impact subs.

Goldie's 6'1" so hardly a shorty.

Garner has quite a lot of strength. He knows how to hold players off him. Just his height, but he still gets up for the balls

We shouldn't rest anyone for a match they need to keep playing and keep their match fitness up, if your talking about resting players then do through the week , give them more time off regards training etc but always play them on match day!
