With the fire continuing to be stoked by Savage again in the media along with many Forest fans seeming unable to grasp that maybe Tyson's actions was not the brightest thing to do. ( At this point may I say, he has entered Forest folklore and it was brilliant ).

May I refer some of you back to the preseason thread against Notts County's Lee Hughes, I cannot find it, but the vitriol spewed out because he dared celebrate a goal in front of the Forest fans really shocked me.

Two rights do not make a wrong, regarding Savages behaviour but at times I do wonder about the fans blind mentality about various incidents.

Most of that vitriol seemed to be under the misguided idea that somebody who has served time in prison for a crime shouldn't be allowed to enjoy themselves ever.

Personally it didn't bother me in the slightest that Lee Hughes celebrated infront of us.

Players have frequently celebrated goals in front of the Trent End, right by the advertising boards. Sure, they get some verbal abuse thrown their way... BUT, have you seen any Forest players going over and starting on them? Have you seen Forest fans ripping up seats, throwing things, going on the pitch to confront said players?

Of course what Tyson did was silly. But I've never seen opposition players react like Derby players did before. As I pointed out a while ago, you didn't see Millwall players going mental at Stanislas celebrating in front of their fans did you? No they ignored it and got on with it.

Most of the Millwall players were busy avoiding the West Am fans invading the pitch!

Tyson's actions, and Savage's last season, are something which endear them to supporters of their own clubs. I'm sure that on Sunday morning Tyson regretted the trouble which was caused (indirectly) by his actions, and will be suitably contrite if he receives a ban. But I would hope that if the FA decide to punish one of our individuals, then they should look at the antics of the Derby players. Perhaps they could make some reference to the supporters of bith clubs who decided not to invade the pitch and join in the scuffling, unlike the supporters of West Am and Mewo.

Dean Sturridge got the same treatment might not of been boost bars though.

He picked one up and started pretending he was eating it and that did't not go down well so more was chucked at him, all coming back to me we played wolves on a friday night 02/03 season.
