certainly not, but hypothetically speaking I am the sort of bloke who would get p**sed off if I saw a girl in a bar and a mate decided to go off with her, just because of the fact that I said that I liked her.

Derby are your mates? :D

certainly not, hence my hypothetically speaking comment :D

if all nigel can come up with is non-league players and pinching our scouting lists then he will wreck his reputation with out club even more.

Given that we finished a point apart it's not really surprising that Derby are looking at the same targets we are.

Are you the sort of person who sees a girl in a bar and then decides she's yours, regardless of what she thinks, and then gets angry if she goes off with another bloke? If Jones wants to come to us, and Billy (backed by the board) wants him enough, then we'll sign him. If not, he's free to go anywhere else.

Isnt that what rohypnol is for? :suicide:

It seems Swansea have entered the 'race' to sign him now.
It's turning into a Forest-Derby-Swansea tug o'war for signings.

Add West Brom to the mix as well.

"Rob has never hidden the fact that he's interested in going back to England one day. That's well chronicled from January when Forest were interested in Rob."

That rules Swansea out then. :nowink:

Frankly who gives a shit? If we get him we do. If we don't then so be it. We are looking for quality players and not to expect any competition for signings is silly.

Why don't w*nk D***y do their own f**king scouting! Clough must just read the papers and see who everyone else is looking at!! tw@t!

quite right , let's face it if no-one else was interested in "our" targets then they probably wouldn't be worth having anyway, i hope we get him but i'm not going to fret over it , i'm quietly confident we'll have our best squad for many year's come august with or without jones .

I seriously would be surprised if we were in for him, we seem to be quite public about who we're after, Brayford, Barker, Moxey etc with no mention of this guy at all

Mind you, Clough could of also spotted this Jones fella when he went on his scouting trip prior to signing Chris Porter

That Clough is a complete prick.

Whatever have that family done for Forest?

Some ***** on here.

Two similarly placed CCC teams, who are presumably looking to strengthen in similar areas are linked to the same player. Shock horror!!

Don't like all the Clough abuse either, I thought we were above that.

With you on that still got alot of time for Clough you can't blame him for taking the Derby job, for a nonleague manager that was some step up. Besides as been said before it doesn't matter who are supposedly interested in 'our' targets it just shows the players we are after must have something about them to warrant our own apparent interest.

Hibs race hots up

Nottingham Forest, 13:04, May 21, 2009

Nottingham Forest face a battle to land Hibs captain Rob Jones after West Brom entered the running for his signature.

Forest boss Billy Davies is lining up an improved £1million bid for the 29-year-old after his impressive display against Celtic last weekend, while Derby manager Nigel Clough is also reported to be interested in the highly-rated defender.

It would now seem West Brom boss Tony Mowbray is planning a raid on the club he managed between 2004 to 2006 as he looks to rebuild his Baggies side following their relegation from the Premier League.

Jones' agent Gary Gill claims there are a number of clubs monitoring his situation and says the player is keen on a move to England.

"A lot of clubs have shown an interest," said Gill. "Championship teams and the better ones from League One are keen.

"Rob has never hidden the fact he's interested in going back to England.

"There is potential there this summer for Rob to move on bit the fact he has a year left on his contract will have to be reflected in his fee."

Amazing.

Croft went to Derby, 'Arry won't sell Gunter to us, Ando is off to the Swans and about half the Championship are trying to sign Jones.

If we hadn't f*cked around in January we could have had Rob Jones all safe and secure by now without any competition (except from Colchester) for his signature. Now that it's summer and every side's on the clean-up, there's bound to be interest in all the good players we're after. Ultimately, if it comes down to a choice between (for instance) West Brom and Nottingham Forest, I expect with their parachute payments, their recent Premiership history and their solid squad, it will be a no-brainer for Jones if he ends up having to make that decision.

Just goes to show if you dwell on things you miss out. I expect to see us miss out more and more this summer.
