He'll run and run until the cows come home. I can't fault his effort and stamina, that is his best trait imo.
He has no finishing, his passing can be off, and is in no way worth £1m.

He tries hard but was never good enough for the prem, Should do okay for you in the 2nd tier, I honestly don't think anyone on here will shed a tear at him leaving us though.

He's not that bad works very hard and has a good attitude, not highly skilled by any means and he has a rotten shot but good honest player.
Not sure if he is worth a million quid though he's only scored 11 goals in a his career which is about 6 years so not exactly prolific for an attacking midfielder

In all seriousness Burnley fans, you might think this is sour grapes as is often the case on messageboards but all this is a pretty accurate description.
You can never fault his on pitch attitude - Marney works his balls off and must be one of the fittest players we have EVER had on our books but I'm not sure that's a huge positive as if you wanted that why not sign a Kenyan long distance runner? His passing is average, his tackling and positioning suspect and his shooting honestly woeful. He can half whack a ball but it invariabley flies 25ft over the bar every time. It must be those new balls....
I would honestly, hand on heart have been pleased to see him leave this summer for free so to get a fee I am over the moon. But as someone else said, you just pipped us to 800k in prize money so lets call it even.

when hull were flying - he got a lot of praise, very good player who works hard and makes life difficult for the opposition. 500k would be a good price. can play anywhere across the middle or full back too

Oh of course Forest are so superior in every way, when it comes to players going to other clubs that we supposedly had an interest in their shit and would never have been any good at forest loli think people forget sometimes just exactly where we have been the last few seasons and where Burnley and players like Marney have been, history is great to have but counts for nothing these days, Burnley probably showed more interest and we showed **** all, not saying i wanted him, but could of done a decent job but we'll never know now.
