Dean Henderson

How long until the Crystal Palace are putting out a collective apology to EM, and asking him to please stop his crusade of vengeance?

I am loving it. Their little tin pot "ultras" group announced they were disbanding the other day. Palaces season is falling to pieces.

The entire club is falling to pieces, because "Big" Evangelos has them over the proverbial barrel.

I reckon Palace fans chanting Marinakis name so many times has turned it into some kind of Candyman like scenario and they are now realising he is not a greek myth, and that he is coming to mess them up.

Wasn't a massive fan in his first spell but then he has been their first choice pretty much since then and in that time they have won a FA cup and Conference so...

... also, whilst he didn't look very good especially from long range we do defend in general a lot better.

He's a good age for a keeper now, as well as showing he is capable at this level.

Sels has been a bit dodgy this season (I think only the Munoz strike is one he couldn't really have done better with) and JV is probably only good enough as backup, and is also 34, so overall this makes sense now.

I’ve personally been saying we need a new #1 keeper for some time now, and would have been happy for us to drop a fortune on Trafford. That #1 shirt if free for a reason.

Agree on Trafford and he looked very good in the 2 games against us.

Hopefully Henderson makes it clear he wants to return home to Forest (I say home because he wanted to come permanently after his first season).

I disagree.

Sels is in the top 3 or 4 goalkeepers I’ve seen at Forest in 60 years.
The season before last for sure and much of last season too, but he had a fair number of moments he wouldn't have had two years ago last season, and as I said - I think each of the goals he has conceded this season, only one could he really claim he couldn't have done better on (and would probably have saved 2 years back).

He's certainly - as reflects his age - coming towards the end of his time at the top level

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against Sels at all, but we need to think about longer term options and replacing him (as well as Wood) at some point...

I’m not discrediting Sels in terms in what he’s done for us, but he showed signs of breaking down slightly last year and I believe a new #1 for the Glasner era would be a good move, both for the short, medium, and long term

I think he HAS been in that bracket but since his injury last season there is something missing from his game - he seems reluctant to catch on crosses and doesn’t seem to dominate his box so much.

Sels has been a wonderful servant to the club and will be very fondly remembered by me as and when he does leave. Bought for an absolute snip when 5th or 6th on the list of targets and has been exceptional.

The only reason he is here, however, is because we couldn’t get Hendo back after his first season with us.

He was beaten fom shots from range a lot, but our defence and midfield were so crap at closing down on the edge of the box, I'm not sure if he was at fault much. That first season back it really shocked me just how good Prem players were - in the Championship those shots rarely go in, in the Prem they do if you give them the chance.

I think Sels has been better at Forest than Henderson was - but Henderson has been better at Palace than he was here. But it feels harsh to judge Henderson on those 6 months because we were crap - and I do remember him making some decent saves. He's a great penalty saver too.
