Just seen this on the De*by Mad board.
I never realised they had such great knowledge of our players and financial situation
This is a thread starter about James Perch:

So after all the talk they have started reducing the debt, one of their best players gone. My sources tell me he wont be the last to go either, and NC is still after one of their players !!!!

What a twat, spunking his pants at the thought they might be after one of our players

It's no surprise that the Sheep fan mentions money.. it's all they talk about. They've forgotten what the purpose of a football club is.

When they're not counting money, they're rutting sheep. There's no hope of them realising the purpose of a football club.

Bit sad that he'd even claim to have an in depth knowledge of the inner workings of our club. Is life so dull at Derby County?

No, it's true. James Perch was one of our best players, along with McGoldrick and Adebola. So, if any clubs are reading and would like to pay ÂŁ1million for either of these to help us reduce our debt further it would be most appreciated.

Seeing as Doughty has to stump up a million or three every season to bankroll us, selling those cloggers would only stave off debt.

Better still, it'd go into the kitty for new players.

i love the sheepshaggers dream like view that Forest have millions of debt, and will cease to exist unless we get promoted, not like them at all, now that there huge parachute payments that have kept them a whopping 10 points above relegation for 2 seasons.

I used to have some fun on Direby Mad ...... until I got banned. If you go on to have a look, it's all gone quiet. They wouldn't admit it amongst Reds fans, but when they are bleating amongst themselves, they are really fed up with their lack of ambition and are generally envious of us for our efforts to get promoted. They have some decent (for Rams) debators but one or two insufferable know-alls who actually stifle debate from other Rams fans. One in particular loves to try to bate us with constant references to our gates AND our huge debts (he is now suggesting it stands at ÂŁ70 million and that it is repayable by 2011. Fact - that's what he keeps saying). He reminds me of all the reasons we generally hate Derby. I won't feed his pathetic ego by telling you his name. Anyone who goes on there will know it!

It does say in the accounts that ND's loans are repayable in 2011 to be fair.
Although didnt Mark Arthur say last season (or previous season..) that there is a clause in the loan agreement that they can only be repaid if the club can afford to repay them in full?

I think we'll find that ND has to put this into the 'loan' paperwork because gifting the money would weaken his position. I would fully expect him NOT to call in the loans in 2011 and so would all right-minded people (even those on Direby Mad). If he did call them in, we would go out of business and he would get a fraction of what we owe him. He will get his reward when we wheel and deal for a new stadium. What Forest do in the future will affect Nigel directly, so staying at the City Ground is not an option; he will not then be able to make money from property built around a new ground.
My point about what they say on that feeble site was that they honestly believed that these 'debts' would be called in, whereas I don't think they will be. Also, he would charge us interest for obvious reasons; however, our success is absolutely at the front of his mind. Good on him.
Another myth put forward on that crappy site is that ND has got less personal fortune than he had - NOT according to the Times rich list, where they estimate that it has, in fact, increased.

Doughty's money showing as a loan, rather than a cash injection means Forest are not liable to tax on it surely?

Can never find a decent accountant when you need one lol

I would presume that Doughty's loans are in the form of debentures. By doing this he secures the money he is owed ahead of any other creditor, and receives interest on the loan. The debentures have an end date (presumably 2011), but can of course be renewed, which is what I would expect to happen.

it's been renewed every year for the last few. It's always due a year from now and always extended by a year. There are reasons for that but i can't actually remember them.

Thanks for the info you lot. The arrangement with Nigel will only benefit the club - he's a fan and wants us to succeed. Direby fans don't understand this - their only investments in the past from so-called fans came from either crooks or from people who proved to have no money. Now they have yanks who are probably doing a good job with their finances but will do nothing for their footballing success.

Read something recently on that site about Murdo Mackay, apparently all he owns know is a plastic carrier bag full of clothes.

Wasn't too long ago he was deriding us for our (admitedly pathetic) attempt to sign Leon Osman.

Still he f**ked Derby over so he wasn't all bad.

No offence to any derby fans lurking, but FFS do some research before humiliating yourselves.

We love banter, but use facts. Not retarded statements based on Chaddesdon IQ levels
