ottingham Forest boss Billy Davies has revealed his intention to loan out 'six to eight' members of his squad.
The Reds chief is keen to award a number of his promising youngsters the opportunity to experience first-team football elsewhere.
The intention is that those involved will then return to The City Ground in a better position to compete for a starting berth.
It is expected that the likes of Brendan Moloney, Joe Heath, Mark Byrne and James Reid will be among those sent to clubs in Leagues One and Two in order to aid their development.
It will not just be academy products that will be loaned out, though, with Davies admitting some of the club's more experienced stars could also be on the move.
"There will probably be six to eight players going out on loan next season, especially some of the younger players because they need more experience," the Scot told the Nottingham Evening Post.
"We will get them playing more regularly and we have identified those players already.
"We will speak to them when they come back for pre-season.
"The idea is they will then be ready to come back and do a job for us."
Big ask
Davies believes the challenges posed by life in the Championship were too great for some of his players last season, but expects his young stars to bounce back stronger in the future.
He said: "The Championship is a very difficult league and last season some players were not ready for what they were thrown into.
"It was a big ask of them and they were thrown in at the deep end with very little experience and asked to do jobs far too often and far too early in their careers.
"But we will send them out at the right level to get the right experience and they will benefit from it and so will Nottingham Forest."
