Davies & Thornhill back

Apparently Thornhill was s**te

...and Davies has been shite since leaving Yeovil.

Suprised Thornhill didn't make more of an impact to be honest. He always looked like he was on the verge of growing into a special player.

Thornhill hated it down there so probably wansn't producing his best football.

Davies just isn't very good.

Always like Thornhill, hopefully he can learn a few things from McKenna now.

Davies - meh

Don't send them out on loan again. Keep them here for when injuries hit during the winter months.

Davies is as good as gone.

With Thornhill, I think he's worth persevering with. He's just not been happy where he is by the sounds of things.

Both were very disappointing apparently.

Thornhill especially so. I think it was the wrong move for him going all the way down there and hopefully it won't have ruined his career.

I thought Thornhll was very promising - far more effective at the time than one Louis McGugan. As for Davies - I don't share everyone's negative views on him. He's not set the world on fire here, but has shown flashes of what he can do - tricky, plays a good ball and works hard. With the right motivation and coaching, who knows?

Only for Yeovil against us!

Not really true, but the money we paid for both of them was cheap when you consider we got a gem anyway in Cohen.

That might motivate you, and I know they've been in Brighton, but I think there's better ways to motivate our players :D

I see them both going to County in the transfer window - Davies on a permanent with Thornhill on loan for the rest of the season (whilst possibly training with us before joining up with County at the weekend)

I cant see thornhill getting in our team at the mo even google is on the bench its a shame cause I think he is a good player but can you see him getting into the current team , sadly no , we have moved on so much in 12 months its time to look foward to better players that can cope in the prem next year.

Thornhill actually gets in the right areas to score goals instinctively, which Cohen doesn't. Thornhill just needs to toughen up and learn to tackle and he'd be a good all round midfielder.

Cohen hasn't played center midfield this season has he?

So leave him alone!

He's right though.

Thornhill is far more of a goal threat in the box than any of our other centre midfielders.

I think he'll come good under the right management.

What about last season? Saying that prompted me to look at their goalscoring records. Going by Wikipedia, Thornhill has 5 in 38 appearances (a fair few probably as a sub), Cohen has 4 in 99 (mostly starts, mostly in midfield) which, to be fair, though I love Cohen, is f***ing abysmal!

He just doesn't get in the box for some reason.

Yeah I just think Thornhill is a good asset to have in the future, especially if we get stuck in the CCC for a long time. If we get to the Premiership we'll be trying to bring in a different quality of player anyway.

Does that mean that McKenna is not as good as Thornhill?? 18 games played and no goals!!

Thornhill has not done well and has not fitted in at Brighton, does that make him a bad player? Only time will tell.

McKenna is a totally different player to Thornhill.

Where Thornhill can attack and go forward, McKenna sits back and breaks play up.

Yeah, if you look at other holding players' goalscoring records you'll find they rarely score either (Mikel, Makelele, Diarra, Senna, Gilberto etc just to name the obvious ones).

You wouldn't expect McKenna to be in the box or one the edge of it trying to score, where as Cohen should be but never is. Then again, Anderson doesn't score many either.

I miss Stone and Woan!
