Davies OUTers!

I just cant understand the mentality of certain members of our crowd. I sit in Trent end upper and 2 people where shouting for Davies out even when we had equalised! They were also shouting it before we went back ahead against Preston widweek! Why do people bother to come and apparently support our team when they are shouting moronic things like that so prematurely? Im really happy with our progression recently, just makes me feel like moving seats when theres such negativity :( Has any body else noticed this?

It's the same all over the ground, I fear.

Look at the ground when Smith has the ball in his hands, looking around - seeing 10 men with their back to him - screaming and pointing at him to roll it out to someone who doesn't want to receive the ball, moreover someone who wouldn't know they were about to as they aren't looking.

Listen to the ironic cheers when he claims crosses, count them in a game, then divide it by the number of crosses that come in - oh look, it's a high percentage!

Listen to them slagging off Perch. It's basically, unfortunately, what they do.

Totally agree. I have a gentleman behind me that constantly slags EVERYONE of our players. I just dont understand why he bothers!?? Smith played well today and pulled off a great save in the second half, and his distribution was excellent. Really wish people would get behind the team now and be the 12th man. It must be so hard when the crowd are on their backs all the time, thats why i proabably like away games better because most people are alot more positive!

Basically, a significant percentage of our fans are morons. Though are we worse than other teams? We're not worse than Notts County, for starters, although perhaps that isn't saying much.

We (as fans) never seem to be satisfied! I unfortunatley wasnt around in the clough era so i can understand why some expect more but if you support a team surely you back them??

Memories die hard. Even under Cloughie and more recently, Frank Clarke there were doubters. The internet has just given more scope for such fans to meet. I'm reliably informed that many Forest fans still didnt appreciate Cloughies style even after the 2 European cups !

Why do they bother spending their money, when they know they're going to be unhappy with the product they are paying for?
It's not like some multimillionaire is going to buy us up, put Maradona on fat camp, and make us the leading football club in the world, just because they whine. Support the team we got... And hope for better times! :)

I think Cloughies style was appreciated by the over whelming majority, if I am honest we were too busy pinching ourselves at the start to wonder otherwise.

Towards the end though, many strange choices made by the man left many pondering, the magic had ran out, he was working on his laurels. Obviously the basics principles were still in place, but the fire to drive them on had wained, to the point when all he could manage were the nice clean cut figures, the ability to manage the stronger characters seemed to have been left behind.

Cloughies sides could no longer deal with the new emerging styles of the game, Sheff Utd, Wimbledon, Everton all pioneered a far more robust approach in varying degrees, in this we failed miserably, Cloughie identified Collymore but did not go for him............Why only he knew, but Stan was always a problem to managers, where as Big Bad Bob Rosario and the ageing Gary Bannister were not...no great suprise to find the latter in our sides as we fought relegation.

So yes even Cloughie came in for some criticism, I remember being stunned by the side he put out at Wembley against Tottenham. Leading up to the Cup Final we had blitzed all before us in league games, Forest for the final time under Clough were on fire, yet at the final, he left out Nigel Jemson for Lee Glover, Steve Hodge for Ian Woan and I believe Brian Laws for Gary Charles, all strong characters to allow his nice clean cut young men play..................the rest is history

As for the fans, even during the glory days, like the Romans the coliseum, they had to have a player to bait, whinge whine and moan about, one of the more unsung yet showered with the games honours throughout his career used to be the main whipping boy..............John Mc Govern, so yes we have always had moronic fans, happy to moan at anything, even during the great days.

I am absolutly disgusted at so many fans at the game trying to destroy Smith's confidence, they are doing the oppositions work for them.......Brilliant work

Didnt hear any of that yesterday to be honest, and we DONT NEED it and We DONT WANT it...we want to make our ground a fortress and can I urge all our fans to get right behind the team for the rest of the season as much as they can now - our young team need it and they deserve it. We dont want any negativity at all. The people doing that are just plain and simply moronic.

Spot on. Agree with all of that.

Everyone has one of these near them.

If you do as many ironic cheers as Forest fans do, maybe Smith is actually quite good? His confidence has definitely suffered since it all started. He still pulls of at least one goal saving stop every home game.

These idiots shouldn't be allowed to celebrate our goals and wins.

I sat behind one idiot who berated Chris Cohen against Doncaster as he took a corner, calling him lazy and all the names under the sun. If there's one player who didn't deserve it it's Cohen. Me and my mate challenged him about it and he replied "what Cohen? hes only scored about 3 goals since he's been here." when we pointed out it's not his job to score he couldn't manage a reply. He just sat down.

When it comes down to it, most of these sort of people are either stupid, drunk or both.

Exactly. Like him or not, he is our keeper. Why make his job harder?

Thats what i said on another thread that away fans are a different group to the home fans and basically people were saying that they are all the same people. They are not. It is the same with every club, every club have fans that moan. My cousin went to young Niges first game in charge of the sheep and a bloke was calling for his head and calling him a red dog bastard after they went 2-0 down to QPR. It is not by any stretch of the imagination exclusive to Forest. However, I cant stand these fans who berate the players on matchdays, complete set of pricks.

Ive said it before and ill say it again ... get behind the players and BD - he is doing a brilliant job.

Im sorry - were you actually at the game?!

How many of his kicks went to pot, how many actually went out of play?

His distribution is appauling, but his one shot-stop was brilliant.

How many did go out of play? I remember one and that was Mcleary's fault.

I can count 1 - but that landed outside the sideline. So that makes it two?

That dosn't sound bad at all to me. His kicking is fine. Especially when we have no ball winner to aim too. The other I think you are refering too when the whole length of the pitch and nearly found Mcsheffrey. It went into touch right near the corner flag and kept the pressure on Swansea.

He's a decent kicker, he's not David Beckham. Thats why he plays in goal instead of midfield.

I went on at length on the Paul Smith thread - I'm SICK of the boo-boys. There really ARE some CRETINS go to watch Forest. I have played football to a reasonable standard but the total and constant criticism from some 'fans' points to one of two things -
1. You haven't a clue about football
2. You've only got one brain cell (and that's not working very well).
I've said before that getting onto our players' backs just gives the opposition a boost. Do people want to make certain of our players into bags of nerves - afraid to try anything? Perhaps these self-important whiners just keep it up in the hope that their 'campaign' against these hapless players will eventually bear fruit. Then 'I TOLD YOU SO'. Keep away from my club you pillocks.
