Davies for Rangers?

Walter smith is out of contract in January and said he would step aside if a new owner wanted someone new. Talk is on Rangers sites that they want Billy.

I know it's only talk but he started his playing career there...... so would he go if they came calling?

Most likely.

I doubt they'd go in for him though, and I doubt Walter Smith would be given the boot.

I couldn't see them going for hom to be honest, and if they did I doubt he would want to leave what he has already started here.

Having said that I wouldn't hold it against him if he did go to be honest.

Why not? Who could turn this face down?

I'm 50/50 on this if he'd go or not.

To say he only played 13 games for Rangers, but they were his first club.

It's an attractive role for Scottish managers and with the lure of European football . . . . .

but

He is onto a good project at Forest, might want to finish what he started.

He doesn't tend to walk out on clubs and only really goes if sacked ( I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong there )

Rangers are financially f**ked though.

This, & the national job would surely lure any Scottish manager outside of the Prem.

Though he's started something here, and I think its precisely the Lure of that Premierleague ambition that Davies so bitterly tasted that has him wanting to return there.
And at this club, where he has already and will probably continue to receice great finacial backing and support, he is well on his way to building something. He wouldnt go.

If it were Celtic I could imagine him going, but not Rangers after all the talk of the banks wanting to effectively take them over.

Realistically though I wouldnt see him leaving anytime soon - Billy's gonna want to better his dissapointing stint in the Premierleague with the scum, going to the SPL is a huge step back from there.

I agree Mate - if we lose him it will be to an English Prem club who offers him a better package. If he gets us back to the Prem (as he will) his value will increase exponentially.

I for one hope he goes, we can get someone in who doesn't mind playing attractive football once in a while. Like Glenn Hoddle.

He wouldn't go,
both managers know they have a job to do - billy has work here he has started, and isnt going to go until we get premier league or start challenging consistently - and rangers will jus renew their managers contract

Billy's not going anywhere right now. :nowink:

He's got a job to do and he won't leave us until he's done it. :smug:

It would be hard for him to say no. As for Rangers, they are deep in financial shit and alledgedly being run by the bank or so Walter Smith says. Might provide a good tool for BD to use to get his way over transfer committee though ;D

Its probably the easiest job in Football, 10 or so fixtures that actually matter where all you have to say is 'play 4-4-2, same team as last week'
