Dunno just seems a bit weird, if he's that good I would have wanted him in the squad and pushing Murillo. Boly is always half injured as well so another tall CB destroyer wouldn't have gone amiss.

Oly really wanted him so we were never signing him for ourselves this season regardless of his quality. I don't have any problem with this arrangement since it feels win-win. Oly get their man and we get some PSR profit for this year + a potential CB option down the road. Only risk is if he ends up completely rubbish or gets a severe injury. On the other hand if he improves we'll have signed a good player for cheap.

We need one more CB this year for cover, but I think it will come at the end of the window with a loan or a short-term contract - some good teams will likely have some decent spares - and we reassess our CB options again next season.

Not being on social media, podcasts and other digital stuff, I'm amazed at the players who keep popping up that I've never heard of and disappear just as I hear about them.

In a season or two I'll hear comments like "whatever happened to old Carmo" and I'll be thinking, who the hell was he!

We learn from this document that Carmos' transfer cost precisely what preliminary information claimed it did (11m euros + 4m in bonuses); Porto kept a 10% sell-on right. We also learn the amount of commission payed to leaches, sorry, agents: 520K euros + 190K in bonuses.

Is the agents commission in addition to the fee or included as part of it?

Precisely. I've even heard of cases where it is the selling club that pays them (to secure a big sell they desperately need will come through).

Do you know if these fees are amortised for PSR purposes or charged upfront?
And unrelated to this, are Capilogy salary figures for players relatively accurate?

Not heard much about this lad recently and he hasn't been playing for Olympiacos (Biancone started in their last match). Is he injured? I assumed he was signed as a Murillo replacement long term.

Last year he was really great for us. Similar to (although probably not as great as) Milenković, in the sense that he was a no-thrills CB who could get the job done very well, with great consistency and composure, and with the added bonus of a good left foot, used in incisive long passes. This season he looks a bit off his standard, either because he was tired from playing non-stop (hence his muscle injury), or perhaps because being bought by a Premier club messed with his head.

Incidentally, Fenerbahçe reportedly offered 10m for Carmo in January.
